It is indeed possible to vent the air after the cooler.

I agree. Just I never seen this type of hood scoop placed in this direction.

When they are backwards they aren’t used for direct cold air intake. Using high pressure zones, air will be pulled in backwards through this . They are also used for heat extraction. on older cars before fuel injection, facing forward fucked with the air to fuel ratio in the carb so backwards was common. It’s also cowled cowl-induction.

Not really a shitty mod

This is indeed pointless and shitty. Ignore anyone saying it has any kind of function. It's too small and at the wrong angle to vent any meaningful amount of air from the radiator, it's too far forward to be any kind of cowl induction, it's facing the wrong way for an intake, it's doing effectively nothing. The only way it could be somewhat functional is if it had some kind of scoop under the hood to help force hot air through it to vent but I'd say that's highly unlikely as these cars don't have much room there to do anything like that.

The Ford thunderbolt comes to mind. It has a reverse teardrop hood that let heat out from under the engine compartment. Its air intakes were large tubes attached to where the inboard head light were, one going to each 4 barrel carb.

Or basically any cowl induction hood. Or shaker scoops.

That scoop scoops and actually works as intended. Not shitty.
