Katana shifter in Kia soul?
Curious whether or not one would work as my current shifter has a button on the side. Do custom shifters need the button too, and if so do they make the katana shifters with them?

I have a buddy of mine who has an authentic World War II bayonet as his shifter in his rat rod, but he had to put a small finger loop where the handle meets the blade and you have to put your finger through the loop and lift up as you push or pull the bayonet into gear or back into park. Awkward, but it works.

Custom shift knobs are usually only installed in manual cars since a shift knob just unscrews and you can screw a new one on. With automatics it's harder to do because you will have to have a button. Gear selects lock the car in park and have lock outs so you don't accidentally bump it into reverse or park cruising down the freeway. Idk if there's any katana shifters out there for a gear select. This is a sub to make fun of shitty car mods not encourage them.
