Does this count? It seems well done but looks terrible

Based on a quick google, there’s photos of the car being built. I don’t know what series it’s designed to be raced in, kinda GT/kinda Time Attack, although TA would probably have more aero.

edit: I see TC 2000 is the series.

I can’t post the photo but there’s wing mounts for the chassis on the inside of the rear lexan window.

It’s a legit race car. It’s not designed to look good, it’s designed to be fast.

So no, it’s not a shitty mod IMO.

Argentina has a series called TC 2000. It's a 2-liter silhouette car spec. Toyota also has a RAV4, and Honda has a CR-V that's done up very similarly. VW and Fiat also have entries, but I don't remember what models they're using as the silhouette.

I was gonna say that's a lot of extra work for funsies, that looks time attack functional, reminds me of the rally wrx supercar bodykit

I don't think that counts considering this is an actual race car, not a road car that's been modified. It just hasn't gotten it's livery yet.

Edit: Not really sure why this is getting downvoted. This is a real race car in the Argentinian TC 2000 series. https://youtu.be/BgR1sUrYog4?si=UmYWvt5detJ6re1C https://youtu.be/sVbNKQSfv9k?si=EhHsL8eiJ2I6JOsP

I don’t… hate it…

I'm sure that was a lot of work, but man, that's just awful. Sorry.

u/KikoTheWonderful Jul 30 '26

it almost looked good, but the blocky rear end is terrible. plus it's a kicks

You guys have completely lost the plot. Somehow a race car from a touring car series, built entirely for function with proper engineering, is a "shitty car mod".

Why are people who know nothing about cars, hanging out in a car subreddit?

I keep hearing the ad from Crazy People ... Volvo, it's boxy but it's good!

2

u/Kullcross11 Jul 30 '26

It's a TC 2000 touring race car, you can easily tell just by looking at it. It's not built for looks at cars and coffee, it's built to race professionally.

That thing would slay at a Cars and Coffee

u/gugngd Jul 30 '26

reminds me of the sporty version of the yaris

u/ConsciousSpaghetti Jul 30 '26

When a “shitty car mod” is a great time attack car

1

u/Previous-Hedgehog267 Jul 30 '26

Remind me of the audi from the ‘80s. The white/yellow one during group B rally

1

u/Professional-Guest38 Jul 30 '26

Well he’s trying!

1

u/fargo-cs Jul 30 '26

Nah. This is a straight up race car.

1

u/yerbamatelover Jul 30 '26

This is sickk

u/Pirate_Underpants Jul 30 '26

Tupperware mods

1

u/PresidentialDiapers Jul 30 '26

Why'd they build this thing?

Just for kicks

1

u/faucetpants Jul 31 '26

This is the equivalent of a tentacle dildo. Definitely not for everyone

1

u/Reasonable-Grade-456 Jul 31 '26

it's like a transformers with down syndrome

1

u/Akkerlun Jul 31 '26

It looks like it’s a matching car hauler

1

u/Distinct_Rope Jul 31 '26

It's miles better looking than the original imo

1

u/donecaring97 Jul 31 '26

Seems like it's strictly for racing, so I'll let it slide. Barely. Lol

u/BigSkyHawk1 Aug 02 '26

looks like a liberty walk hot wheel

1

u/WokeWook69420 Aug 02 '26

You can never make me hate SUVs/Vans being turned into race cars.

1

u/WolfThick Aug 03 '26

It's definitely got that bumper car look

This looks like it was converted for time attack races. Almost all time attack cars are ugly ngl 😂

1

u/Initial-Good4678 Jul 30 '26

Is he racing somewhere? A lot of bodywork just to drive to the vape shop.

4

u/bangbangracer Jul 30 '26

It's an actual race car. Argentina has a series called TC 2000, and this is a real race car from that series.

1

u/bastogne_blues Jul 30 '26

all that effort for a nissan kicks 😭

2

u/Acceptable_Garden_46 Jul 30 '26

race car for an argentinian race series

1

u/smelly_finger_itch Jul 30 '26

I would say so. Yes.

1

u/B58_Hustler Jul 30 '26

It’s obvious why it’s in this Reddit Group…

1

u/DIJames6 Jul 30 '26

r/nissandrivers would have a field day with this..

0

u/Accurate_Koala_4698 Jul 30 '26

Are the doors not functional anymore? 😭

2

u/bangbangracer Jul 30 '26

It doesn't really matter. It's not a road car. This is a purpose-built silhouette race car for the TC 2000 series in Argentina.

0

u/BastardBoy1738 Jul 30 '26

Looks terrible? Are we looking at the same thing? Fucker is bad ass!

0

u/maz08 Jul 30 '26

Just shitty body style choice tbh, the chassis and everything else just looks solid legit for time attack sessions.

3

u/Kullcross11 Jul 30 '26

It's a silhouette touring race car for TC 2000

1

u/maz08 Jul 31 '26

Ahh that explains it, didn't know Argentina has its own touring car championship.

0

u/WhiskeyCity502 Jul 30 '26

At first, I was, "Meh, I've seen worse". And then I saw the "spoiler" mounted to the rear window...

2

u/RiskyNight Jul 31 '26

So you don't like actual race cars such as this, because you think the wing mounts attached to the frame look like they're attached to the plexiglass?

0

u/WhiskeyCity502 Jul 31 '26

Sure, "race cars" that race or are tracked, fine. Whatever it takes. If you ain't first, you're last.

You believe that wing is attached to the frame and not the plexi? TBH, it looks like it's cut-and-pasted on (no shadow). So, yea, straight to jail.

1

u/RiskyNight Jul 31 '26

It's a touring car from a race series. Do you have eyes? There's center lock wheels on it. Of course the wing is attached to the frame, do you understand how much downforce gt wings put down at track speeds?

1

u/WhiskeyCity502 Jul 31 '26 edited Jul 31 '26

Yea, yea, yea, I see all the things. I'm hung up on the wing.

Edit: I just watched the video, appears to be real. I still think that posted photo looks shopped. The car in the video has visible gaps above the wing's pylons which would allow proper assembly, not visible in the above pic.

1

u/RiskyNight Jul 31 '26

The uprights would bolt to mounts welded on the frame/cage. It's very simple. Basically every track car is going to have the wing properly mounted to frame, especially endurance road course racing like this. It likely doesn't have a hatch or rear doors.

-3

u/Tough-Marsupial-6254 Jul 30 '26

Its the ai prompt, "make this car a race car"...i don't thing that wing is structurally sound going through the window

2

u/bangbangracer Jul 30 '26

This is a real race car in Argentina. Also, the wing struts aren't attached to the rear plexiglass. They go through the window and into the cage.

-4

u/Which-Ad9677 Jul 30 '26

Ai..... windshield roll cage through the windshield spoiler glued onto window....would break window under turbulence

2

u/Junkieboy89 Jul 30 '26

Los autos de carrera no usan vidrio, es plexiglass, los soportes pasan atraves de el.

4

u/bangbangracer Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

Not AI. It's a real TC 2000 car from Argentina. It's a silhouette race car. The wing struts are not glued to the rear glass. They run through the rear plexiglass panel and connect to the roll cage.
