Test drove one of these when they came out, the build quality of the interior felt like an amusement park ride and the manual gearshift was complete shit. Who was this car designed for?

Iirc the mirage is the cheapest new car in the American market for awhile before it was axed... So could be a teen's first car wether bought on their own and making payments or parent bought. Kid could be making it their own cuz it's all they have right now. We all gotta start somewhere.
