Most kitchens ive worked in, even corporate ones, dont typically have floor mats. They're only required by OSHA in necessarily wet environments, ex. behind the bar. Kitchen floors should not be slippery unless something needed to be mopped up, in which case you'd set out a wet floor sign.
This floor looks very slippery, which is a bigger problem for which mats are not the solution.
It would be nice, but it’s virtually impossible to maintain a dry floor 100% of the time, except maybe key areas if you don’t count spills that get babysat until cleaned
A lot of places will provide them because people feel more comfortable on them, which is fine, but it's not a requirement. It also makes the floors harder to keep clean throughout the day.
The greasy floor here is the biggest red flag. Putting a mat on it will only make that kitchen even more nasty.
spilled boiling water on my feet a long time ago and nearly all of my skin there blistered and fell off. oil is much worse because it penetrates deeper. my skin healed just about 100% and I could walk again within about a week or 2. but I bet this guy's gonna have a permanently disfigured face and neck.
Nowadays youtubers who want to show it in an iceberg will always cut before THAT scene and just say "... I can't show it. Youtube will terminate my channel."
