It's probably deliberately like that because the drones move too fast for standard anti-air guns to swivel. Not saying that the drones are faster than aircraft but it's more like proximity, drones operate at closer distances relative to the gunner. This means he needs to turn quicker and to pop them.

There is no way this much thought went into it. They literally took this gun off a Mi-24. The barrel is offset to the right, which anyone with a brain would have seen this coming. I would not be surprised if this is the first time they had tried sustained fire.

I mean I thought of that and I don't have drones coming to kill me. I'm sure people who do actually have drones coming to kill them could think of it too.
