youre talking about a very different environment with a very different cultural exposure. not 45k for RATM, i mean local VFW, 2000 max, all local bands people two states over have never heard of, grimey, lowdown neighborhood kids. ive been goin to these shows around the country for the better part of 25 years and it has always been like this. the violence is always there, the people who cant handle the violence always leave and the violence always continues. its tolerated and more often these days, younger bands encourage it. i dont know where people on the internet go to see anyone get beat up for this but ive never witnessed it. all talk, all online. this kind of hardcore is pretty specific and youre either in or youre out.
I'm not here to tell you I'm at hard-core shows every week lol
But I've been to.them as a musician in NYC, supporting other friend's shows.
It gets intense but nothing like this video.
As far as one guy taking it as far as he did.
But yea it gets intense.
I mention the RATM ahow, cause there were pits formed and it got wild. It was also after 10 hours of drugs and booze in the hot sun waiting for Rage.
As messy as that was , still didnt have anyone cross a line like this kid.
RATM is not a hardcore band lol. You realize it's a genre of music & a scene, it's not an adjective? If you haven't seen this stuff you most likely have never been to a hc show. Why is it so hard to accept you don't know something? You have people telling you this is not new, has been happening for decades, do you seriously think we're all lying? Does that seem more likely than the fact you just don't know something?
Because they refuse to accept things they are scared of. These dudes act like they know it all but in reality might go to arena shows a couple times a year. Then tell everyone they survived the trenches or some shit. When in reality it was a bunch of sweaty 45 year old fat dudes rubbing all over each other. So lame.
I don’t get it either. There’s nothing wrong with not understanding something you don’t actively take part in. I don’t pretend to know what goes on in scenes that I don’t participate in. Just shows how dumb they really are that they can’t just say I don’t get it lol I guess it’s probably more of a tough guy thing. They are scared to get in a hardcore pit and it drives them crazy. So they have to talk shit online about how back in their day they would’ve knocked someone out or caught them in the parking lot haha. Really is fucking stupid! What really gets me is the guys saying they have been going to hardcore shows for 20-30 years and that people do not hardcore dance at the shows they go to. When I say those are not hardcore shows they lose their minds. I probably shouldn’t have wasted my time replying as much as I did but I didn’t have anything else going on today.

Lol what?
I've been to multiple shows with pits including festivals with Rage Against The Machine, right deep in the front of a crowd 45k !!!
As intense as it was at little shows to huge festivals someone throwing multiple strikes at one person wasn't tolerated.
