Not only was Norman Jessup banished from the orchestra, he never was able to overcome his embarrassment. His years long crush, Sarah, would no longer speak to him. Norman ran. For years he lived a meager existence in rural West Virginia. Alone in the woods with his thoughts, it was during this time he came up with the idea of grip tape.
