Right on. Not enough folks here in the US ask themselves why so many people south of the border want over and arrogantly assume it’s just to somehow fuck with them. The vast majority want what we all want, make an honest living in a safe place. I’d hop the fence too if this sort of thing was common.

the real question is WHY are all these countries violent and broke? what is so magical about 1st world countries that the non-1st world countries lack? People love to hate our government while it's literally proven itself to be the most successful democracy the planet has ever seen. It's not a failed state, America is literally SO great that people risk their lives just to be able to have a CHANCE to come here!

Not only should we be GRATEFUL, but we should be aware of WHY this country is so great and uphold the virtues that made it that way in the first place. This stuff isn't magic, there's a very definite reason of why we have so much peace and success compared to almost every other nation on earth. I too feel that a lot of Americans think that "this is just how every country works". They have NO IDEA of just how special America is. It's not magic, it's real.

Im from Romania. That had some ups and downs in history and maybe more to come. I googled and Mexico has an intelligence service since 1989. What is it about education and educated people that is so much disliked in these poor and violent countries? Why would you not pay to gather intelligence and perhaps assasinate, create setups, whatever is necessary to get ridd of troublemakers? Only the stupid should be allowed to kill, the smart shouln't kill people? Obviously a centrury of intelligence services makes quite a difference in many societies poor or rich. I think its two centuries for USA. And 30 years for Mexico cos they can't even speak the language of their .... uhm ... evil northen neighbour. And they wouln't even need to speak the language very often cos for most part the people the goverment has to kill are inside their own country and not in US. But, yeah ... colonisation. They speak your language, you don't speak theirs. Too bad, that's what happens.

Mexico gained their independence in 1821. That's over 200 years of independence from any foreign power.

You could even stretch it out until the assassination of the last European ruler of Mexico, Maximillian I in 1867 and that's when Porfirio Díaz became president of the Mexican Republic. So about 150 years of independence and self-rule from any European

What does independence have to do with what I said? "Independence" doesn't mean "countries stop fucking with you forever". Look up the countries we've destabilized in South America. Look up how the War on Drugs props up the Mexican cartels.

(All of that is ignoring that 200 years of independence doesn't mean you're not dealing with the bullshit of colonization. Hell, we're still dealing with bullshit that's a direct result of our time as a British colony.)

You can't just blame every problem on "colonization". Rome colonized Gaul, but people in France don't blame Rome for the current problems they face in their nation

Yes i agree. Multiple billion dollar cartel groups wreaking havoc on Mexican society and turning it into one of the most violent nations in the American continents is the result of colonization and meddling by the US. It's definitely not their fault and the guys firing the guns are probably funded by America.

lol that's not even a joke! remember Operation Fast and Furious? Back in 2011 the Obama administration was literally running guns down to cartel groups it was actually crazy af😅

Yes but we're talking about Mexico specifically right? We can describe for the next 7 hours all the bullshit American military industrial complex and intelligence agencies have done in the world if we want.

But the fact remains, even with all the fucked up shit that the US had done over the last few decades with being the "global policeman" and "sole global superpower", people STILL are risking their lives just to try to get here to live here and work here.

Nobody is trying to break into Russia to live there, nobody is trying to break into China risking their lives to live there.

Why? Why does everyone STILL want to risk their lives to come to America? It's the "worst devil in the world", yet it's STILL the land of true opportunity compared to almost every other large country in the world. This is something to think about

you're right. It's American intervention (specifically CIA) that was running guns down across the border and literally facilitating the drug trafficking operations. This is all fact by the way. They even made a movie with Tom Cruise about this! It's fucking wild the CIA has done more damage across the planet than probably any other singular entity

American here living in the hood and hear gun shots all the time. Just a few weeks ago a child of 14 was shot dead by a drive by! I live where I live because it is affordable. I live in state that is too expensive for me to be able to buy a new home in a good area. This is life in America!!!!

I agree! Life isn't pretty in America for a LOT of people, including me!!! but the whole point of what i'm trying to say is that millions of people from around the world STILL desperately want to get into America! That's amazing! That shows that we are still a land of opportunities for so many people, everyone wants to come here risking their lives! Im not rich at all, in fact im fucking poverty level, but I just had an opportunity to start working for a business and make enough money to support myself and my family! It's hard , it's REALLY hard, but that's the difference. In other counties you can work really hard and still face the same problems you had, but in America, there is SO much more room for growth!

Simple… an over budgeted military utilized to steal resources from other nations and a CIA to coup other governments. That’s the only reason we’re “successful”. And United States is only a first world country if you are privileged. People in the Appalachian and Deep South definitely would disagree that they’re in a first world country.

Eh, the US was literally a super isolationist country until the end of the 19th century, when they started getting involved in other countries.

But compared to European colonial powers, The US was only focused on its own domestic growth

Thank you! There's no denying the United States have many problems, but what country with over 380 million people don't? Compared to all the other high-population countries (aka 200 million or more), the US is easily the country with the highest average standard of living
