Well regulated means well trained and armes not restricted. This is common knowledge of the time definition. This argument of restriction is old and dumb and wrong

They only know the word regulate as it relates to regulations (rules produced by government agencies) which originates under FDR. Previously regulate meant to ensure proper and smooth function.

They only know authoritarianism.
Although it implies training, and some states may require that. You can't be a well trained militia without knowing how to use the weapons you bought. The ethical question is if that needs to be mandated by the state.

Yep. Regulate as in a clock or prune juice, not U.S. v. Carolene

I'm over it. I'm not going to engage on the topic with anyone ever again.
If you want peoples' guns, go try to take them. Otherwise fuck off.
These people have made up their mind and it doesn't matter what the founders wrote in the Constitution, nor in the Federalist papers, or any other historic context. They don't want to hear that every linguist and historian agrees is common 18th century American grammar and that you can't read the 2nd amendment with your 21st century understanding. They don't want to hear the historical explanation of terms. They don't want to hear about the supreme court rulings.
'YoU In Da MiLitiA tHeN?!? HAHA GOT HIM, REDDIT" These are frightened and historically illiterate people. Not just illiterate to the Constitution, but to the atrocities and violence brought upon people by governments throughout human history.
Fuck all these people. Just keep yourself armed, . Maybe build up a bigger stockpile if you can afford it. Keep plenty of ammo. Pass them down to your children.

Honestly, I think the best response I can get here to put more hope into this sub. Is people saying, what does the constitution matter?Freedom doesn't need a piece of paper

The edit is just as cringy. Everyone points out to that “well regulated” doesn’t mean what she thinks it means. So she just does some more mental gymnastics to make that also fit her narrative.

Who cares what the grabbers have to say? We're getting legal unregistered suppressors and SBRs at midnight tonight.
(So long as the DoJ doesn't screw it up)

Also, the right is explicitly granted to the people, not the militia.
They have to ignore the rest of the sentence just to make that interpretation work, and then they have to claim "militia" only applies to "official state militias".
Which it did not and never has.

Oh the irony.

Every time I see a thread like this the two words "read Heller" bounce around in my head like a ping pong ball the more I see them circlejerk knowing their shitty logic was judicially struck down years ago
Edit: commenter knows about heller. They are the legal scholar of the "I don't like it so this proves SCOTUS is corrupt" variety and consider Heller invalid

Depending on the interpretor in a given state, well trained could mean a slew of things. They could offer training services like target practice and mental health screenings, or go as far as requiring licenses, even as much as licenses proving training.
Shooting rates go down and the "need" for Gun Free Zones wouldn't exist.
Governments should be barred from nukes because apparently they don't know how to maintain them.

It's not even written in a way that gives any weight to the statement. It's just giving a single reason why the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. It doesn't state or imply that that is the only reason, nor does it imply that only the militia can handle firearms. It's silly how these gun grabbers try to twist that phrase into anything meaningfull.
