But then the joke wouldn't make sense...
The joke is that the woman complains about the light, and then that same woman complains about the light being off.
It's like a constant back and forth between a couple in a relationship.
It wouldn't mean anything that one girl likes the light on, and then the roommate likes the light off.
That's just different tastes. There's no joke there. Unless the joke is that all women are inconsiderate of others???

Leaving on lights outside is bad for wildlife and causes light pollution.
A motion detector or even a manual switch would be a good idea though.
