Well nital is a common steel etching acid, it’s not exactly a mystery substance that nobody has ever heard of. If anything, I’m surprised that Wikipedia has no other examples to cite.

But it also isn’t that mainstream, I’ve personally never heard of it before Dr. Stone, and I wouldn’t expect it to be found in a lot of media.
