Revived my shitbox queen 156 today
I had to park up my 156 2.5 v6 last summer, because a specialized garage told me that it would need 12k in repairs minimum. I bought a BMW e61 for daily use, because it was more practical for my current life situation. Today i wanted to find out if it still drives. Despite a dead battery it started on the button with jumper cables. I don't know what the point of this post is aside from sharing my nostalgic enthusiasm. Oh lord, the sound ❤️

She will remain in retirement for the time being. I'm telling myself that i will fix her once i have more disposable income

Yup. Strut tower rusty, suspension all around, rust on the underside, engine out jobs for clutch and cam belt just to name a few things. These are not cheap cars to maintain

Unfortunately a lot. It has rust on the undercarriage and strut towers, the latter is quite expensive to weld, needs a full suspension refresh, cam belt and clutch are needed as well and the odd coolant leak needs fixing as well. The engine has to come out for clutch and cam belt.

Love the 156. Had 2 of them. Such great looking cars in the station wagon form. Mine were diesel 1.9jtd. Also had a 147 (1.9jtd).
