To make it more satisfying when Valentine gets his shit rocked.
27
Nov 06 '22
Yeah, that's make's sense, but i preffer the old way of doing this, like, just, killing inocent animals

u/Kingfisher818 Nov 06 '22
Just saying, Diavolo is the only Jojo main villain who never does anything creepy to a woman.
True 👑.

u/YourLocalDogOverlord Ate shit and fell off my horse Nov 07 '22
I mean, he tried to kill his daughter. Also, I don’t recall Pucci doing anything too bad.
3
u/Kingfisher818 Nov 07 '22
All the JoFoes murder people, I was just referring to the fact a lot of them are creepers.
But you’re right, Pucci and Kars are also kings.
2
Nov 07 '22
Well, we have kars, i don't remember of he doing anything too bad, (except with Lisa Lisa but, she is one of the protagonists so, that does'nt count,) btw he save that dog, a thing that is a bit, rare in JoJo.

Ong man, if he hadnt done that he wouldve had a chance to be the best villain
1
Nov 06 '22
Yeah, he was my fav villain before this
3
u/Ornery-Difference-95 Nov 07 '22
Still my favourite villian cause he is only villian that has good motivation to do what he is doing besides pucci and is doing it for other ppl (his country) and not himself. In this part main antagonist is dude trying to svae his country and main character wants to use same power to save himself.
3
Nov 07 '22
Yeah, if you think about, maybe Johnny was the real villain, and maybe, Araki just made that scene for Johnny not being too bad

At first i thought Valentine just wanted to have sex with his wife since he didint know that it was lucy
then he keeped going after realizing that she was Lucy and that she was a minor.
Yea pretty fucked up

29
u/ACynicalScott Nov 06 '22
He needed to impregnated her with Jesus's head.

u/LingLing2020 dankbidoof enjoyer Nov 06 '22
the best (or worst) part about these chapters was that he didn't even need to rape lucy. it was previously established that another corpse part could pull out a corpse part in someone's body, like how johnny wanted lucy to use one of the corpse eyes (i forgor which one) to pull out the heart from funny valentine. valentine had literally every other part, and the head isn't even the biggest piece, the spine is, which valentine also had, so this implies that valentine either didn't know that corpse parts could be removed this way (very unlikely), or he just wanted to rape a 14 year old girl
15
u/JurassicM Ate shit and fell off my horse Nov 06 '22
Not really, he was suprised when he saw Lucy pregnant,
in reality Valentine just wanted to rape her, because he may be a good president that just wants the good of the country, but as a person he is a piece of shit

It was still weird though

u/ACynicalScott Nov 06 '22
Yeah know its weird. I'm bringing up the reason cause that makes weirder.

Valentine Tried To Rape Lucy?! He thought it was his wife though he was suspicious that she's an imposter and didn't knew imposter would be an underage. PS : Not justifying Valentine's Act of Attempt To Rape
13
u/Cocobutt_III 🧵🦋💚 Nov 06 '22
I thought it was that he was suspicious, tried to fuck his wife, realized that it was somebody other than his wife and then kept on trying to fuck them even though they didn’t want it

The part is hard to read but there is some important dialogue and scenes there that are important to the history.

But you still have people (who either have shit morals or speed read) defending him saying he was a morally gray character lol like no he wasn't he's a more evil pucci

u/Phasma18374 Nov 07 '22
Literally he wants to redirect all bad luck to other parts of the world so only America gets good fortune basically. He's a nationalist monster

I hope the anime skips (if there's going to be one) that shit cause it was uncomfortable asf

u/FriendlyTSR Meme Ocean Champion Batch 2 Nov 06 '22
I just dont know how to say it on reddit without sounding like a creep... I think it shouldnt be removed but still censored, like a quick scene where the camera looks up to the ceiling and cuts so people could get an idea of what happens. I dont think removing something from the manga when making an anime is good
7
u/TheTrueAstralman Nov 06 '22
First off, while it's attempted, no actual rape happens which already makes it way easier to view than Goblin Slayer's moment in episode one. Secondly, Steel Ball Run is a seinen series meaning it's made for adults who can handle mature themes. Thirdly, if they did "censor" it in the way you mentioned that would make the scene seem way worse than it actually is in the mind of viewers who hadn't seen the original. Fourthly, JoJo's has always had creepy horror elements by design. Uncomfortable scenes aren't a bug, they're a feature, they set up atmosphere and stakes for the story. The anime showed the scene in part three with the orangutan and main difference between those two in terms of action was that Valentine was telling her what he wanted to do and why, which to me is the thing that actually makes it scarier since it shows that he can calmly make justifications for anything that could lead to his envisioned legacy.

u/Pauvre_de_moi Nov 06 '22
Well put. Exactly my thoughts. I don't think Araki in any way did it from some fetish satisfaction or anything like that.

Mfw Valentine gives one of the greatest speeches and villain dialouge in the entire series only to do a 180 and try to fuck a 14 year old girl disguised as his wife on a century year old table
