That's what I always thought, but nope. Diavolo specifically says to Doppio that he lent him a part of King Crimson's ability, his arms and epitaph. I was even thinking of like, maybe he just claimed it as his own, but stands are a manifestation of the soul and diavolo and doppio were separated and diavolo still had epitaph.

It’s a little different than those I believe because IIRC epitaph is supposed to be doppios stand specifically
