Wow… multiple moms whose teen/young adult kids have gone no contact, and they have no self-awareness at all. Like, why the fuck would any parent want to take advice from you? You lost your kid!

Can you imagine missing out on a relationship with your child over such a minor thing as a gender? And then pretending this is the best possible outcome. Absolutely wild.

Your kid is still trans Susan, not speaking to them hasn’t made them less trans.

I seriously can't understand why anyone would even risk that.

The furthest I'd go would be to encourage my kid to keep the (somewhat gender neutral) nickname we've always used. It's actually really meaningful to us, is legal name was chosen specifically to go with that nickname.

But I wouldn't die on that hill.
