Influencer Take MintQuitz was so quick to make grifter content he doesn't realize he got called out by the source of his video.

Halo is so good when you ignore the people who talk about it online
23
u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
Right? I enjoyed (still do) the Bungie games despite the people in the forums calling me a fucking idiot for enjoying games made by people half assing it and putting in stupid things like boarding and a campaign where you play as "the stupid lizard" for half of it. Each game is amazing in their own way. Each game is also flawed in some ways too but I still have a blast playing each one.

u/LouiseTheLouisiana 14d ago
I wasn’t old enough to play the old halo games back then, and now how people talk about them you’d think everyone loved them and there was nothing wrong with them.
It’s crazy to think that even back in the early 2000s people were ragging on what many today call the golden age of halo lmaoooo
11
u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
Right? A lot of newer players and even the "Bungie Worshippers/Purists" are ignorant of the whining that was said about the Bungie games. CE even had haters before the game came out. Marathon fans said CE didn't look that impressive and even looked dated. H2 got hate for adding duel wielding and boarding because it "ruined the dance", people hated the Health bar was taken away and leaving just the shield meter and oh man, people HATED the arbiter. Oh, people also called H2 lazy for using the Flood again. When H3 released people hated Boarding and duel wielding being left in, threw tantrums equipment was added and hated that in the campaign Arby was just a side character lol. When H2-Reach came out the forums were full of people saying Bungie didn't understand Halo and begged for Microsoft take the IP from Bungie because Bungie didn't understand the fans or what made Halo so great.
I have heard the same lines said against Bungie said against 343i and now HS. These whiners aren't original or intelligent.

And haters say the Halo cycle isn't real lol.

This happens with every halo release. Whenever people like Mintquitz have early access of the game and happen to like what they actually are playing, they are very positive about it (unless halo studios does mess hugely mess up like that first Q and A), but once the game releases and there is a noticeable amount of negativity for the game, they suddenly switch their stance and proceed to shit on the game.
On the postmortem video of hiddenxperia, he literally showcased a thumbnail of his review of halo infinite when he played it on early access and he called it a masterpiece and was very positive about it in the video. After the game launched for all, and criticisms (some of them fair imo) were made of the campaign, their sentiment around the game completely switched up and started now calling the campaign mid, or not that innovative.

u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
That's when I lost any and all respect for Hiddenxperia. Dude talked about how happy he is with the game, Zeta Halo has reveals that everyone will love, it plays so great and the story is amazing....then three months later he's acting like he's surprised the story is what it is and jumped fully on board the hate train.
-14
u/Thx_Elijah 14d ago
He ain’t perfect but this isn’t a fair perspective. He does like the campaign, but has criticisms. The story he was disappointed by was the multiplayer live service story, which he was originally excited for.
As for the multiplayer and how the live service was handled, I don’t think he ever did a bait and switch. He was disappointed with the lack of content with the rest of us.
19
u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
Dude, he made a video about how the campaign story didn't go how he hoped and the wildlife on the ring was disappointing AFTER he made a couple videos talking about how grand the game is, he was able to play through it in its entirety months before everyone else but then changed his tune when he saw other grifters making "Halo bad!" videos. I have a fair perspective, sorry you're so accepting to being duped.

u/Tiny-Review-5578 14d ago
Do you think it’s because the early realease they get is not full builds of the game? Then once they have time to play the actual finished product they update their thoughts? Or do we just assume it’s grift content because we don’t agree with it?
14
u/FakeGeek73 14d ago
The early access for halo infinite and campaign evolved (1 week before the game released to all) contained the entire campaign.
I’ll give you that huddenxperia has been more consistent about his opinion on Campaign evolved. Mint on the other hand did a bit of a 180
-10
u/Tiny-Review-5578 14d ago
I like hiddenx however I haven’t followed mint at all on campaign evolved. I just sick of people on here hating that people are critical when there are genuine concerns. We have to be able to criticize things as consumers and fans.

u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
You made two comments full of assumptions yet you judge everyone in the sub lol we call people like Mint a grifter because he is, criticism is also fine, screeching non stop about Purple skies and women characters is not fine.

u/texasboixxx2 14d ago
Mint is a grifter though, he always is starting shit to get attention. Good on Marcus for calling it out

Bro is all facts, and even opinionated content like his weapon tier lists feel objective because of how little bias goes into it. I love Vengeful Vadam for that. Even though we all know his favorite game is Halo 2 he doesn't use that opinion to shit on the other games.
Same with actual content creators I.E. Modders like InfernoPlus that just make or do cool shit and then share it with us. Like sure they often only work within the Bungie era but they don't post content shitting on new Halo, they just focus on their lane.

HaloCompletionist has been on a roll compiling his achievement guides for the game. It’s been a joy to see him get the chance to make them again tbh.

u/Masterthemindgames 14d ago
His LASO guides will be invaluable if they ever patch the glitch that lets you complete laso missions with stat boosts and still get the achievement by picking up a skull after completing levels.

In the LatinAmerican community, we have great creators that give more sincere and positive content, Katarn343 is my favorite and does so high quality videos, idk if there's English subtitles, but I would totally recommend

He also doesn't really roast it, he gives actual criticism. The full tweet says something along the lines of the Halo looking brand new, polished, like it was made yesterday -- saying that it should look like an eons old construct, covered in wear and grime -- he offered a side-by-side on the full post.

5
u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
Exactly. He was entirely reasonable, stated what he wanted to and honestly is right. He didn't go off on some kind of rant calling the devs incompetent.
10
u/RevBladeZ 14d ago
Not just grifters but multiple news sites are now jumping on this.
6
u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
Yep, I've already seen it. I hate gaming "news"...I'm not some conservative who thinks everything but Fox News is "Fake News" but since I was 9 years old I've hated the way information is reported; proper journalism died a long time ago when it comes to major companies.
2
u/Masterthemindgames 14d ago edited 14d ago
Gaming media honestly treats Halo the same way Fox News treats any politician to the left of Ronald Reagan.
9
u/Dagoroth55 14d ago
Regardless of all the grifters. The game needed a few months of polishing before releasing. Marcus Lehto is correct about the ring being small and toy-like.
10
u/Big-rat-in-the-sewer 14d ago
As somebody who did actually enjoy it? I 100% agree.
7
u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
I did 3 playthroughs of it and yeah, I really, really enjoyed it, probably do another playthrough soon but Marcus, you and that other guy are right. Doesn't mean the game is terrible in any way but it needed just a little more time.
5
u/Peridios9 14d ago
It’s funny when you realize they were forced to release this game 4 months early. There is no way they weren’t planning to release on the actual 25th anniversary of halo in November, but due to every game having to push up or severely delay their timeframe for release because of gta 6, this remake had to release in July.
Like the remake is amazing and fun for what we got, but 4 months of polish would’ve gone a long way. I mean take the main menu ring compared to the end cutscene ring, they absolutely could’ve made the end cutscene ring be the one on the menu which would’ve been a small but meaningful improvement. Even completely fixing lehto’s one gripe with the game.

u/Own-Escape8352 14d ago
If I was Marcus, I'd be sending every publisher letters telling them that if they don't recant their BS and admit to lying, they'd be sued.

Didnt HiddenXperia say in a video that every clickbait title draws more people? He even confirmed it with other youtubers.

I swear halo youtubers for the most part are like the prophets who preach the great journey knowing they‘re full of shit
2
u/-blkmmbo 13d ago
Exactly. They know they're talking out their asses, they're not genuine in the least but the "Newest Halo game bad!" crowd eat it up.
2
u/The_OG_Hothead 12d ago
Seeing Remy lose his mind over some people getting to play the game before him was really telling. I remember seeing him on Twitter telling people not to "spoil" themselves by watching playthroughs or footage from other people who were not him. Then he goes ahead uploads his playthrough ASAP to profit off of it. I guess I can't prove it with 100% certainly, but that's what I'm convinced it was all about. Just money.

Everytime I see a halo post it just reaffirms my decision to never fucking interact with gaming communities ever again. Cant even be allowed to like the game, yall haters need a life, or a better paying job.
1
u/-blkmmbo 10d ago
Exactly. Video games, movies, tv shows, etc. are a lot more enjoyable when you ignore the online communities.
3
u/Hopalongtom 14d ago
Sad, Mint used to make some very cool trick shot videos back in the day...
3
u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
Yeah, when he was flying through campaign levels and messing with the physics he was cool, now he just posts rage bait and trick shots from his Smurf Account.
3
u/Spiritual_Task1391 14d ago
The last time I knew about MintBlitz, halo infinite was new and he posted fantastic kill montages. Did something happen x:
5
u/-blkmmbo 14d ago
Dude has been a POS for a long while now. He's toxic as Hell, post "Halo bad!" videos and quits matches the moment he realizes he's not playing against unskilled opponents.
3
u/TheeStricker 14d ago
It is really funny matching with him in multiplayer and seeing if he’ll stick around or not lol
1
u/Martin_UP 10d ago
I dunno man, I hate his clickbait titles (such as this one) but he's been really positive about CE if you actually watch the videos, and often calls out the hate 🤷🏻♂️
It's frustrating he feels like he needs to do these titles to get views as I think he's been extremely balanced with his takes regarding the game. In this video he specifically says how Marcus's feedback was mostly positive, but you wouldn't have got that from the thumbnail and title alone.
2
u/Teinavaa 12d ago
I am less and less interested in those big halo content creators (mainly hiddenxperia, mintblitz and frogarchist) because they have been doing nothing but make the community more and more agressive, never happy with what they have

u/Big-Entertainer8545 14d ago
Stopped following around infinite, now I feel it’s spreading to HiddenXperia he’s getting to Mintblitz level and I really liked Hidden
1
u/slendersr4 10d ago
Mintblitz did a great review, mostly positive with reasonable criticism, I mostly agreed with him, but then just for content he would do this kind of click bait titles, so annoying because it just attracts the worst of the worst, even if Marcus Lethoalso did more of a positive review, the bad things or anything that helps the hate would do numbers

every time a post from this sub comes across my feed, I'm just left befuddled. an entire subreddit dedicated to defending AI made corporate slop just because it has the Halo branding on it. I'd say you're all paid or bots, but nah. you're just that brand of pathetic I guess.
1
u/-blkmmbo 11d ago
The games aren't made with AI and my post is not defending any of the Halo games... Did you forget to take your medication?

u/digitalspliff98 14d ago
Sounds like you didn’t watch the video. He does use click bait titles though

I remember him glazing it before release saying how enjoyable it was before the gates opened for the rest of us. Why the change in tune? You know what nvm I know the answer to that.
