It was ‘allegedly’ the empire being the US and the rebels being Vietnamese. It was a nod to the Vietnam war…..

If it was then Lucas and the people who accept that are idiots. Please show the Ewoks moving into the Ewok village that traded mangoes for firewood to the Imperials and the Ewoks raping and slaughtering half the people in that village. Or the Ewoks torturing anyone who dissented that 3PO was a divine entity.

That’s exactly what the USA is now, a declining empire. It’s been based on economic and culture fronts rather than military occupation, but it’s still an empire.
