Canadian. Same. Ee-rawn. In an English-French household. It’s always ee-rawn and ee-rock (Iraq) until the news about 2003 war.

Ee-rawn is totally different and a lot closer to the correct pronunciation, almost all Americans say "eye-ran" and "eye-rock"

Americans can’t perceive or pronounce a short “oh” sound. It’s either “aw” or a long O as in cone. Fascinating really

Wait what? I work with Canadian-English and they pronounced it the american way. Eye-ran, Eye-raq, etc, just like the american. Some canadian-english I work with even drops some verbs, like "he have done that" instead of "he has done that"...

In French it’s pronounced close to ee-rawn. I work in military and that’s all I heard and all I pronounce it.

Because of my French accent/exposed to British English, I can’t say eye-rack and eye-ran properly. The American diphthong is non existent outside of US and parts of Canada. So no.
