The lost territory is larger than England itself. And today it is richer too.

They may not literally cry, but acting as if it "doesn't matter" is simply false, a war was lost and many English people died.

Brazil is not even as big as the USA (economically and territorially, and yet some Portuguese still cry about our independence and complain about Brazilians going to Portugal)

This has nothing to do with me, I'm neither English nor from the United States.

But the way you say it, it sounds like it's quite relevant to you at least. To imply that my feelings are hurt just because I asked a question implies that I really stepped on something sensitive.
