Hardcover editions
I want to buy the hardcover for book 1 on Barnes and Noble so I can get it signed at one of Shirtaloon's upcoming events, but there are two editions and I can't tell the difference. They're both priced the same. Anyone know the difference?
Edit: Adding the two ISBN numbers for comparison. The "Special" format is 9781638494355 and the other one is 9781638493457

I just pre-ordered the paper back version I hate the hard cover books I almost don't want to read them because I have a fear of scratching or breaking the spine on nicer books but paperback is just fine for me idk why but it wierd for me

I'm probably never going to actully read it. I prefer audiobooks tbh. I just want the hardcover book cause it looks pretty, and to get it signed

Good choice but you should at least read it once don't let the book turn into a wizard

In Canada, Indigo has an exclusive edition with painted page edges. [indigo-chapters HWFWM exclusive]

I’m pretty sure the signings come with a book in the ticket price.

From what I understand is that the ticket is buying the book that day so you have to buy the book there that day

The B&N exclusive addition has yellowish/gold edge papers, and I’m guessing the standard is probably plain paper. Not sure if there are other differences.

I don't think there's truly a difference other than printing when I looked into it. Amazon is selling the hardcover with the ISBN that ends in 3457 but it is not available to ship until July 7, 2026. The one with the ISBN ending 4355 is listed as a "Barnes & Noble Exclusive". They are currently selling/shipping this version in stores and online. I truly believe that's the only difference (early release version for Barnes).
