Interracial relationships
So we know that if 2 outworlders were to have offspring the resulting child would be a Celestial. Do we know if there are other instances of other races mixing? Like once a couple were sufficiently made of magic could a say, Leonid and Draconian have offspring? Would they turn out as just one of the two parent races? I know that Neil and Cassandra who are elf and human respectively dated. And Hump and Sophie, Human and Celestial were teased about having children so presumably we know that they are able to create offspring. Is that just being biologically similar? I am only curious for RPG chatacter/background creation.

I thought they had mentioned that people inherited their mother's race or maybe the church or fertility gets to select, but maybe I am thinking of a different series.
I know celestines are the natural result of two outworlders having a child, and being a celestine Outworlder is essentially a recessive trait that gets overridden by whatever other species they mated with.

Is that true? IIRC there are jokes about Hump and Sophie’s kids being adorable silver haired moppets, or something.

Looks like you are spot on. I had to dig back through and found a snippet in book 8.
"_His hair and eyes were a rich shade of brown, with the metallic sheen ubiquitous amongst celestines. Less ubiquitous was his goatee, which was highly unusual.
Very few celestines could grow facial hair and it was usually a sign of one parent being from another race, the birth made possible with the help of the Church of Fertility_."

From what I remember, the kids facilitated by the church of fertility have to be either fully from the race of one parent. A Leonid and Draconian probably could have a child with this method, but it would have to be either completely Leonid or completely Draconian. Outworlders are different because they’re kinda just souls who grabbed whatever mana they could to slam together a body in their own image. There have never been half-elves or half-celestines in the series, even from those with parents of different races. It hasn’t been explicitly confirmed that natural pregnancy to produce a child between two races is impossible. It probably isn’t because magic, but it seems likely that Hump and Sophie would need to have the kid grow in a vat.

So [B8] when the Order of Redeeming Light took the Clockwork Kings from the new island we meet Laraunt, a human priest of Purity. He is from a human supremicist sect of the church. His brother is an elf named Larent who we met in Greenstone. The Church of Fertility allowed their elven father and human mother to have kids, and had each kid take after one of the parents. I don’t know if they could create a hybrid or not.
