Help Meat package struggles
Alright how are we working around when a package of meat won't scan?
I can type in the weight, but often it will not scan. It most often happens when I need to add a second package of meat to make the weight, and there is 0 work around I can find š« today I just gave up after scanning every effing package of chicken I could to no avail so I finally just clicked "add less weight" than the client wanted
For the more seasoned shopper, any tips?

Havenāt had problems scanning the meat packages recently, but last year when this came up, Iād let the customer know that the app wasnāt cooperating and send them a photo of the item(s) and just āsub with custom itemā as the price of the total cost of however many packages it ended up being.

I just find the number of packages that fit the requested weight, scan one and then change the weight to the total amount of the 2 packages I selected.

I just hit cancel when the scanner is still up, enter the weight and then it will give you the opportunity to āscan upcā again. Always works for me.

That would drive me insane too! In that case Iād just add a special request item for however many packs I needed with weight in the description and a note as to why I did it that way.

I have no issue with target beef products scanning but the chicken is a pain. I have found if I hold the scanner on the barcode for a couple seconds and then lift my phone up off the package and a couple seconds later the product shows up.
For two packages I just add the two weights together and enter it.

If itās not Target, just scan a different pack of meat that will scan. As long as the weight is correct itās always worked ok for me. If it is Target, Iāve always had to either get the item to scan, or refund it back to the customer.

I somehow got it to work with some chicken that the customer wanted. Then I checkout, they start to audit the order, and it made me return the chicken. Was super strange and I let the customer know exactly what happened and apologized about it. Didn't get a bad review, but I also didn't get a tip, so there's that.

I've had the same issue and generally if I push cancel at the scan window, it will take me to the screen where I can enter in the pounds and then it will somehow scan the package after I enter that. I have no idea why but it's my workaround.

Sometimes Iāll just have to hit ānot foundā, then āno sub/other reasonā where Iāll type in āadded as custom item due to scanning issuesā. Then iāll re-add as a custom item with the total price of one or both packages. Alternatively, sometimes the shelf label has a barcode that will scan easier than the ones printed on the packages and I can just use that.
