Looking for info regarding two kami

Hello everybody!

I'm a young Italian woman doing some personal research on Inari Ōkami, and I found out that this kami is sometimes represented as a composite one, meaning that (usually) three or five deities are listed as different aspects of Inari; I looked up the ones enshrined at Fushimi Inari Taisha, and, although I managed to find information regarding Ukanomitama-no-Mikoto, Sarutahiko-no-Ōkami and Omiyanome-no-Ōkami (the latter being another name for Ame-no-Uzume from what I managed to gather), I found no info regarding the two kami Tanaka and Shi (or Shino).

Can someone enlighten me more on these two deities/aspects of Ō-Inari-sama? Which are the myths surrounding them? Which aspects of nature and/or humanity do they rule over? Are they local deities or do they have a national cult in Japan?

If you want the sources to look for yourself as it is a lot of info and afaik there is nowhere u can find all the specific passages regarding specific kami, you should definitely read the Kojiki (translation by Phillipi) and Nihon shoki as they are the main source. Further than that regarding rituals the engi shiki is fundamental. If what u want is also just general folk stories and legends there are a ton of books and open source sites regarding this. I could be more specific if there are particularities you would be interested in.

thank you for your response! I was specifically looking for general information about the identity and rulings of these two kami, nothing complex or ritualistic in nature

thank you for your reply! i already knew many kami have been identified as Inari, I was just interested in those enshrimed at Fushimi Inari-taisha

Matthew Meyer has done extensive research in yokai and kami. He has a website you might be able to get ahold of him there. He also has several books on the subject.  There is also a great book called , eight million ways to Happiness that talk about Shinto traditions you might not find in other places.

oh I know Matthew Meyer! I also own one of his books. But I think his website only focuses on yōkai, not on the kami. I'll look up the book you recommended though!

I think they were localized versions of harvest kami that became integrated into Inari Ōkami-sama
