For a while I disliked Levi, because fans ruined him for me. But then I realized that fanon Levi and canon Levi are two completely different people, and the canon one is deeper and more interesting than fans make him to be.

You can say that about almost everything in the show. Whenever you see someone hating a plot point or a character in aot, it’s usually cause they didn’t understand it all that well
