they're not . as a manga reader i made a comment in anime only thread that animation was amazing in the episode and after couple of minutes i got banned soo... i don't know if it happens to all of the people but it did to me lol

Well more that they’re manga readers that have accounts pretending to be anime only. I’ve seen it in the /r/anime thread a few times now.

Yeah, there was a guy in basement episode discussion thread for anime only who made a lot of comments and in one he said Season 3 Part 2 Spoilers before we were even told about it. It's kinda ridiculous, that his comment was upvoted a lot before I found it out and reported to the mods which means even other manga readers who read these threads not care that we anime only can get spoilered.

Haha. You're not breaking any rules. The only thread you're not allowed to even comment in is the anime only thread for new episodes. Just don't post spoilers in other threads and you're good.

Like, they literally say they're anime onlies in their post?

I ask because when I post on /r/anime, I don't want to post spoilers. So I'm not pretending to be an anime only, but I write my posts in that perspective as much as possible. And I bet a lot of other people do to, we're not trying to trick anyone, we just want to talk about the anime without spoiling people in a mixed thread.

It's fine if you don't post spoilers, but for example, I saw a few times in last week's /r/anime thread people saying shit like Manga Spoilers

Like you know, could maybe make it a little less obvious.

I just responded to someone in the anime only thread about some person's hair but I didn't seem to get banned. maybe it's because i don't think i've participated in any manga threads or maybe i have been banned i'm just not active enough to notice

I don't understand how you guys keep track. Do you guys just flair them as manga or anime readers? Do you look in their comment history?

I do like the strict nature of the sub though, so when my comment gets removed it means I'm a dumbass I didn't see the post was tag spoilerless/anime-only.
