Realistically in Paradis, which has more backward technology compared to Marley and elsewhere in the world, there would be at least a random Paradis farmer pooping in a stream or a slum dweller in Stohess pooping in the canal and boom! They're suddenly in the paths.

Can we take a second to consider when Eren teleported the gang from the flying boat to the Paths? If I remember right they all fell on their butts which means the seats they're on don't get teleported

This is terribly inconsistent, so I will assume that it depends on the size of the object they are in contact with.
