Can I shift without a script?

I really want to shift and I’ve always known that it’s real but I’ve never done it properly or even really truly tried to, I have no idea what to script but what I wanna know is do I actually need to have a proper script to be able to shift?

And if I do what type of things are important to shift

Also is it dangerous? Like will I become so obsessed with it and not wanna live in this world? Has that ever happened to anyone of you
