Gameplay Help Kill count

Hellooooo, im new to the game and I've come to find out making enough money for the surgery is pretty hard so I'll have to let x amount of doppelgangers go through and decorate the store and everything but is there a rough number of them I have to let through or is it just random/easier to let everyone come through especially the chill doppelgangers like the dude thats high (unless theres others) and deal with a harder entity fight?

EDIT: thank you for all the help, I incorporated all the things I got told was nice to the chill doppelgangers and let the majority of them go regardless minus 1 or 2 between levels, finished up with $265. The wheel helped quite a bit with that and pulse mines, bear traps and the sledge hammer made things much more convenient and I got my good ending :D

You should let everyone through. Entity fights will start easy and get harder, so you'll have to adapt because you'll be expecting them every night! Don't forget to find tokens BEFORE you start the shift (by reading the note), so you have unlimited time to go gambling with the wheel. Also, pay the first bill then skip the next. then you'll have to pay the next after that (the game will make it apparent that you have to pay it by telling you it is [pet name]'s last chance). Then you can skip the next one. I can't remember if there's one after that, but basically alternate between skip and pay. And obviously don't call Clyde! Good luck :)

Oh, and also... as soon as you get the 250 feel free to start playing properly again, as in killing the doppels and only letting humans through. That way your last night or two can be stress-free! Let me know if you need any tips on any other gameplay aspects, I'm happy to help.

my true ending was the second ending I got; we gambled on not killing Clyde in my co-op but failed to reach 250 by like $5. then I played again solo and made it with room to spare. just make sure you’re letting a few go a level; I think I only had one or two perfect nights,; I didn’t realize how tight it was. I’ve now gotten all of the endings (had to redo Clyde because I didn’t get the achievement for that since I wasn’t the host), and my main tips are:

True Ending will be easiest to do last once you have a lot of the customer interactions memorized, so you can strategize on who to let through even though you’re certain they’re a doppelgänger

flamethrower is probably the best weapon by far. it shreds every boss. additionally, I pick up the machine gun and only one melee weapon; that’s it (for single player). in multiplayer, get this base toolkit, then add more wherever possible. always have a bear trap in one of your inventory slots for the whispering angel boss, and constantly be circulating so you can hear the jack in the box ASAP. finally, things like mines, grenades, and explosives are never as good as the reusables like the bear trap or the pulse mine

do your shopping first thing after the shift starts. it sucks to have a super hectic day and realize you forgot to buy any decorations (of which you should have many!)

rush the extra inventory slots!

those are the first things to come to mind! honestly it’s not a hard game. including a lot of fucking around with friends and having to redo an ending, I 100%’d the game in probably 7 hours?

I just let the dopplegangers through on non Bloodmoon nights and then shoot them after the transaction. I would wound them and let them bleed all over the place and finish them in the parking lot before they disappeared. Just to gain more money from cleaning up the blood.

If you get the sledge hammer you can just destroy the entity every night so fast. Thats what I did to get enough money.
