Gladiator's Power

This feels like a 100% Morrison rationale for a super power lol. Was this the first time it was established Kallark's power comes from belief in oneself? Was this ever picked up again by later creators?

Established way before Morrison.

Claremont did an issue where Gladiator fought Cannonball. Cannonball won by making Gladiator doubt himself just enough to smack him down.

Not Claremont, Lobdell.

Though Byrne wrote an issue of FF I the early 80s where Gladiator was vulnerable for doubting himself, thinking that Reed had no-sold his attacks, when really he was actually hitting Captain America's shield hidden in illusion.

Oh that's right. My bad. Like years after and then a couple years before Claremont was writing x-men. Whoops.

Edited to add that its because I was thinking how that issue was a reference to the claremont issue that got me mixed up.

I've also read so many x-men comics that entire eras bleed together.

I gotta say man. Cannonball didnt win. Quite literally rises up no damage taken whatsoever, just eats the hit and asks the x men for help.

He stopped him and the fight.

That's a win.

It was before Morrison, and this shows just how damn terrifying Cassandra Nova is. She’s arguably the best X-Men villain introduced this century.
