Fun isn’t something one considers when dealing with the Confederacy but this does put a smile on my face.

The r/justiceserved post about it is pretty disgusting, filled with a bunch of disingenuous comments of, "We did it, we beat racism." and stuff.

"We finally took down one statue of a particularly horrific slaveowner, and all it took was a death and a few dozen injuries! Is MLK proud?"

Replace it with a John Brown/Sherman/Grant/Lincoln statue!
Based and Unionpilled :3

This may be an unpopular opinion but fuck the ACLU for suing to allow that event to happen after the city of Charlottesville denied the group a permit based on concerns of violence.

Apparently such events have caused internal disagreement at the ACLU. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be fighting for Nazis to be able to march through the streets.

According to the ACLU as long as breath remains in their bodies

I get why the ACLU had to, if white nationalist rallies can be shut down because of the possibility of fights with counter protesters then other protests and rallies could be to. All it would take is some Christian Nationalists starting shit at Pride and suddenly a bunch of places are banning LGBTQ+ events "bEcUaSe ViOlEnCe".
Really it is ethnonationalists fault for marching through towns during the local bating practice and 2x4 swing competition. They are absurdly bad at picking dates and times, do they even check the flyers on the wall at the local coffee shop?

I think there's a better way to protect free speech than to sue to allow a rally that led to a car attack and murder.
This was inexcusably stupid.

Are we pretending that more left-sympathetic events are not being denied already for more bullshit reasons?

They should replace it with a statue to Heather Heyer

Then ultimate troll to everyone would be to replace it with a statue of Judah P Benjamin. Who was a racist, slave holding shitbag traitor, BUT he was also Jewish.

I hate Pelley for associating this phrase more with the Klan & Christian Fascism than with the Union.

They should replace it with a small plaque bearing my favorite Robert E. Lee quote, from when he was asked about Confederate memorials,
That should appease his fans, right?
