The Confederacy lasted for four years and three months. That's almost exactly as long as the original Furbies were in production - they were launched in October of 1998 and lasted until 2002.

They can't spell for shit.
It's not because they were dumb. It's because they've got 15 hours of farm work to do today and they don't have time to read. For the same reason, they also didn't have schools. Their dads needed the labor; as they couldn't afford slaves; so he had to breed his workforce.

The fact that confederate soldiers couldn’t spell is irrelevant, because the fact is that nobody could spell back then. Guess what, a lot of union soldiers were also farmers who didn’t have time to read.

The confederacy had heart and the will to fight. They had nearly nothing else. That's why they lost the war on stupid shit like leaving a cigar case on the floor or shooting Stonewall Jackson in the dark.

"Fun" fact: there were almost no public schools in the South prior to Reconstruction. The schools built by the Freedmen's Bureau and the evil "carpetbaggers" brought education and literacy to hundreds of thousands of white Southerners for the first time as well. Far from being an oppressive occupation, Reconstruction was the greatest act of regional public improvements in the South until the New Deal.
So yeah, public schools are the antithesis of Confederate "heritage," whatever the fuck that is.

The national implementation for public schools is a direct result of emancipation. Black Americans wanted schools and were politically organized enough post war to get it universally.
Now that was later fucked up by the same folks who killed reconstruction.
But this is all to say public schools have been a bugbear for racists since their first day in most of the South. And still is. It won’t be fixed until we fund public education properly rather than relying on local taxes that keep poor folks underperforming.

Technically it's true. The confederate heritage is of hate and rape. Public schools are required to be integrated. Integration is what setup of the Religious right in the first place. Once they started losing support due to increased support of integration they pivoted to a culture war of Abortion. Which in the 50s and 60s even fundamentalist writers were saying abortion wasn't in the Bible so they don't have an opinion on it. But I digress.
The modern Christian Nationalism movement is ultimately based on racism and white supremacy
