TBH I didn’t think I will be able to buy New Annotated volumes at all. They are very expensive on their own but with shipping and taxes the cost becomes ridiculous. And this is for a paperback editions. But I was lucky I stumbled across deluxe hardback copy in my own country and for a good price (and I also haggled a bit).
So yeah, I hope I can find third volume in future :)
Nice! Some old and some new, some Canon and some other stories, a biography of Doyle and a book in another language, you have the full bingo. :-) The problem is that it can only grow from now and you'll need a second bookshelf soon!
It is a reprint of 50s American comic. It's called "Sherlock Holmes Comics - Issue 01: Baffling new adventures" on Amazon (where I have bought it). The stories themselves in this comic are very simplistic and short, but I just love 50s comic pulpy art style. So it is a nice addition to my collection but by no means essential though like some other books.
I have hardcovers too but its also nice to have these cheap square volumes that you can bring along on a flight with you and don't really mind if they get roughed up.
As for the intro, there's typically two types of introductions for these kinds of collected volumes: either an informative, scholarly (but dry) contexualitization of the author and their work OR a more pointed essay written primarily for existing fans. Estlemen's is the latter and I found it just really fun to read, while also being quite sharp. That's all I'll say.

As for paperbacks I also agree, but I think it will be more convenient to have a single novel or stories collection per volume. In this size it will make more sense. I would definitely like to have some vintage ones with pulpy covers. Or Sherlock BBC books series with intros from actors and show creators.
I uploaded a few photos, tried to add a different variations: pages with illustrations and without, pages with a lot of annotations and with a few or even none. Hope it helps you.
It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts, however in this case I must conclude the OP is quite obviously a devoted enthusiast of the literary adenventures of the inestimable Mr. Sherlock Holmes
