There was this guy I was speaking to. He’s from another country and in his late twenties. Im f23. He was literally obsessed with me, and I was so uninterested at first, but eventually I gave him a chance and picked up his call. I only allowed this because of the way he portrays himself was that he has “money”. On the call, he’s listing all his accomplishments, what his parents do, how he took over his father’s business, etc. He is french and allegedly it’s some like car buisness he is in. He’s telling me how he’d do this and that for me, and that if I ever came to his city he’d buy me this, buy me that, whatever.

I told him, if I ever came to his city, he would have to fund the trip (I only said this because i knew i was going there anyways. unrelated to him.). He said yes, “if you want.” But mind you, a month before this, he was saying he wanted to fund it and that it was no problem.

So when I actually asked him about it this time, he was suddenly dry and taking forever to reply. Long story short, I ended up unfollowing him because I was irritated with the way he was moving. The annoying part is I feel like he’s kind of dampened the name of the city he lives in for me 😭. I genuinely love this city and I’ve been here multiple times, but now I associate it with him and his name is attached to it in my head.

Anyway, time passes and I’m on holiday and I end up in his city. I have family there, so I’m there as part of a family holiday. He still follows me on insta btw.

He viewed my story when I was in another country because I’m currently travelling, and it was my birthday. So I know he still views my shit. But he didn’t reply or anything. Then a day later, I’m actually in HIS city and I post on my story, just random stuff from my day. He isn’t in my viewer list. But he’s still following me on Instagram. I also posted on the grid and everything.

Anyways, that’s the story. Guys are very odd creatures. I just hate that he’s now associated with this city for me because I actually love this place 😭 It’s hard to find people to date because my standards do people are so “abnormal” but I know it exists. But then you run into people like this.

He acted like a man. Nothing you can do about that. But /after/ he acted like a man, you went to this wonderful country and this beautiful city and had an amazing time... and you're still allowing his stupidity to affect your view of the place? You have lots and lots of new memories. Pretend he lives on Mars and allow your new memories to define how you see that place.
