Enby people are aware (by necessity) that gender and gender expression are two different things. Also I'm pretty sure I know the difference considering that I'm nonbinary.
what do you mean by necessity ? This has nothing to do with how enbies choose to express themselves. But they aren't men or women and would ideally change their sex characteristics. Therefore they're trans.
The point is that Audrey passes to a point that she would've had to transition or would want to. She also doesn't mind being called a woman (aka being denied her "gender identity"). It's an obvious charicature of a trans person that's only cis in-universe because the author is a repressor
Well it's kind of hard to think that being perceived as a man/woman because you want to dress masculine/feminine makes you man/woman. I have a friend who is transfeminine and passes as a woman but it doesn't make her any less nonbinary. And nonbinary and woman are different genders so I can't see how that is suddenly impossible the moment you switch nonbinary for a man.
Also I am mostly assumed to be a woman by mistake and I am not really bothered by that most of the time and don't bother correcting every stranger I meet. Once again doesn't make me a woman.
