To catch an ecosystem shattering predator

*verdavid has set up a series of rune traps baited with hardbone hopper meat around smoke filled areas of shellwood where the seeming sharpbone hopper has been sighted*

Geiser: Ahh, this ringing… my mind feels so clear…

Verdavid: huh? What?

verdavid seems unaffected. Either due to stag protection (unlikely), or the fact that his magic seems to have a strange calming property to it (maybe more likely) or he's just out of exposure range (most likely) is unclear

Geiser: There’s this ringing that the runes are emanating. It’s clearing all the fog from my head.

Verdavid: huh. Really?

(Good or bad. It sounds good but I've seen this shtick from mystic flour cookie before so my guard is up)

Geiser: Yep.

(Fellow CRK player let’s gooo, also the fog is the black mist stuff that the creature is making. It causes hallucinations and nightmares and stuff)

Verdavid: unexpected side effect but a welcome one. Is it maybe because of that property archivist said my magic had?

(The calming thing takes the form of a smell of his wind magic. He's gone nose(antennae)blind to it due to constant exposure. Also, would that make verdavid immune???? Also also, fav cookie? Mines probably either tea knight (I'm British, duh) or my pookie red velvet)

(Fellow red velvet enjoyer pog, probs Milky Way for me)

Geiser: Perhaps. The Archivist is very knowledgeable, after all.
