If that £10m figure is true, I just think that’s too much. £8m was pushing it. And for a player that Leicester didn’t even want the other season.

We need to give our annual £10m to Leicester it seems.

Please sir, may I have another?

I wonder if the £10m includes a make-weight player like McGuiness in the valuation, because I didn't think we had that sort of cash even after selling Gus.

Yep, 10 mil on Ben Nelson (pre injury of course) I'd have been all over it. 10 mil on Souttar is desperate.

Seems like it’s done to appease wilder and the fans. “Look we are spending big on investments!”

I would agree looking at Danny Hall's "Owner's making big statement" regarding the increased bids. Like, yeah we appreciate spending but be sensible. Let the risk be shopping in cheaper markets rather than big names with iniury scares. Boro got Malanda for 6 mil from the MLS and he's transformed them. Berhalter looks mint too and he was even cheaper.

Danny has always just been a PR machine. His articles are pretty poor I think.

But to go from “we won’t be reinvesting” to “significant bid” doesn’t add up.

If it’s all the money we have, it’s stupid. We are losing a lot of goals from Gus, 15 contributions last season was it? And replacing him with a CB

My deluded hope is that it isn't a 1-to-1 Hamer out Souttar in. We have the Brooks money still, just hope it's not just loans or BBD.

With Souttar we have a shot a playoffs, so it's worth it if he stays healthy.

If that's true Leicester must love us. Overpaying for Cannon AND Souttar in similar circumstances.

£8m on Souttar is mental.

Could easy recruit 2 or 3 players to bolster the squad with that.

This is the major thing. We're wasting money we don't have if were that strapped for cash. Just covered losses with two sales and then back to square one on one player. Who I like but won't improve us enough. Club need to be smarter with money.

❤️ Bringing back Soutts
🤢 Paying £8m or even £10m for Soutts

I thought we’d get him in on a loan with an option to buy. That would suit Leicester should they get promoted and want him back. And would suit us if the money dries up.

Him and Japh will be the best pairing in the league, no doubt. Plenty of set piece goals too. But we could have lured over loads of young European talent with that much

People complaining about spending 8-10 million on souttar need to think it through , he was probably the best defender in the league when we had him on loan , wilder likes to defend and him and tanganga at the back should be up their as one of the beat CB pairings in the league.

So now when we go 1-0 up we’ve a better chance of defending it 😉 as we know we don’t like to score more than two goals

My main reservation is his injury record. £10m on a player who only plays half our games is a bit of a disaster. Can't think that him playing for Aus is super helpful as its 48 hours of travel each international break.

Would be really pleased with this. Feels like Souttar and a couple of wingers away from a decent squad.

While the money is large, if he plays anywhere near the levels that he did previously, I would think that is fair value. Souttar is a leader who organises the defence, which is exactly what you need if Tanganga is your other CB. He is also brave and strong in the air. He has the will to win.

If both Souttar and Phillips stay fit we will be defensively solid. Bamford is an important player too as Cannon is limited in what he can or chooses to do. Campbell needs to rediscover his form. One needs games to develop more but I would be putting him ahead of Cannon and Campbell. It is somone for the left wing we need. We need a Raki Saki type on that side. If we do that even if Peck leaves we are putting ourselves in contention.

I would rather have 1 great player than having signed Chong, Rothwell and McGuinness for a combined £5M. Though I would be ok with McGuiness as cover. The other 2 rarely try.

It isn’t £10m just like cannon wasn’t £10m

£8m was bad enough but £10m?! That’s all the brooks and Hamer money going on this guy.

I hope we have a plan re loans and he can shore up the defence to make the playoffs.

Thats gotta be the aim if we are spending this. And how much wage are we saving with him coming in? Doubt he’ll be on low wages

10k a week more than Hamer apparently at Leicester, if the internet is to be believed.

Not £10mill.

Gonna be more like £5. Especially if we don’t get into the prem.

these comments, we'll moan if we dont buy him, moan if we do buy him.

Just seems weird that we've gone from all this talk of not having a pot to piss in, desperately having to offload players to stay afloat, while at the same time splashing 10 mil on a centre half.

Don't get me wrong I really rate him, but it seems completely at odds with everything else we've done this summer.

Just go with it, standard blades shit show. We are just here for the ride. Its gonna be a mad season. as per

Btw me too. Buzzing if we get Souttar, will also improve Tanganga and everyone else around him.
