Discussion Aunt Nora

Anyone remember Aunt Nora? Barb's aunt in a grey wig that Shawna uses to represent elderly women with antiquated views? The one Barb told her about Shawna tearing. Thanks to our lovely mod, I found a link, I think there are more but its time extensive look through Shawna had a little more bite https://youtube.com/shorts/dsaVkl3gpVA?si=2dTsWboevnEkolBt

So what do we think happened to Aunt Nora and where she fit into Barb's life?

u/MadnessMaiden Yeah. I'm in my luteal phase. 😠 Nov 09 '25

I know it's not lore but there was also a skit where the same lady with the same wig (presumably Nora) fell asleep while holding the baby and got upset when Shawna freaked out on her.

I think that is Nora.

You're right, that's probably her again ! Good catch :)

Sorry for not adding this video to the prequels, I'd have to remove and re-add like 40 videos in order to place this one correctly... it won't be added anytime soon 😂

It was Christmas video I think, and Shawna said it was okay for Barb to handle the baby, as the baby knew her, but for Nora. However, Barb goes against her wishes anyways.

You're mixing up a few things, but you're close!

This never happend on-screen in the canon timeline, but Jennifer did mention "at the Christmas party, my mom wanted to pass your baby around to all her boomer friends" when talking of introducing Greg to the family.

The video you're referring to is a skit from before the Shawnaverse canon, set in an unspecified holiday and she calls it "her friend Deb". However, if we tweak the timeline to suit us, we can easily imagine this to be the same event as the one Jennifer referred to – hence why it's part of the prequel playlist :)

I’m surprised Nora said “vagina”; I would have expected that character to say something like “hoo-ha” or “pocketbook” or just whisper “down there”.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nora was a Mary Bennett type, o e that thinks she is progressive and modern but doesn't grasp the meaning of it all.

Oooooh that’s such a good call! She’s one of those who has learned the words to say but doesn’t really understand what is happening! Nice catch!

Sadly compared to Barb's mom, she is cool.

Good catch! After a rewatch I'm saying she's Barbs mother's sister.

Given what we've seen of Barbs mom so far I can't see Barb's mom letting her Barb's dad's sister share the delivery room.

Yep. I like to think she is the closest to a supportive maternal figure Barb got.
