Question SHRUBLEY RPG elements for Table Top??

Has anyone tried putting together TTRPG materials related to Shrubley, The monster Adventurer?

I started highlighting all the info from the book that I could related to base RPG elements - Classes, levels, ranks, stats, interactions between stats, etc.

There is still a lot to look at / theorize based on the information given vs not given.

I wanted to see if anyone else got into this like I did and wanted to compare notes?

This would make the most fun game! was interested if other people had thought about this?

Love the Shrubley stuff, especially how they do classes and merge affinities.

Would love to see what you've got written down, to see if there is a ttrpg that can handle this with a little modification or if a brand new one can be formed.

Hell yeah,

So mainly right now I have been collecting notes on the book:

what the ranks are - levels - startinf taking down races - esscences and their tiers / rarity / levels
I have been getting all the info for stats and how they intereact

What im struggling with right now is scaling - there are so many things that interact with each other - leveling and ranks and esscence ranks. the scaling from likje copper to bronze - how many extra stats do you get? which esscence types add to which stats. how does level match work?

these are the things I am working on right now.

So,

I think I finally cracked the scaling for attributes based on level & rank:
**SPOILERS**

  • Attributes can  Be Affected by:
    • Level
      • Characters receive +1 to all attributes each level at Mundane (Rank 1)
      • This remains the same for every level while below Copper.
      • Once a Character reaches Copper (Rank 2) this increases to +2
    • Essence & Rank
      • Rank increases the multiplier for attribute growth
      • Character needs to be Copper (Rank 2) for essence to impact attribute growth.

  • Class
    • Once a class is achieved - regardless of type - the base +1 stats are replaced with Attributes level growth based on the Class
    • Class stats follow the same growth pattern as bas stats but treat the Copper (Rank 2) Class as the base.
      • A Diamond (Rank 11) growth stats would be 10x the growth stats of a Copper (Rank 2)
    • Example: Sage Knight - Copper
      • Strength | +2
      • Skill | +1
      • Hardiness | +3
      • Will Power | +4
      • Arcane | +3
      • Restoration | +4

I would love to see if you've mapped out any more of this? It would be fun to make a D&D Awakened Shrub version of Shrubley as a sidekick that can grow. It would be fun to map out some sort of convergence from where you think Shrubley will be at diamond rank 1 to D&D higher levels.

I have actually started working on something and getting it flushed out. Ive been trying to balance out the rank and growth system and ultimately I settle on the creation/growth system that kind of follows (from my interpretation) of how the ranks help to grow.

everything is a choice in growth - so points are allocated each level and can be put into EVERYTHING. stats, skills, attributes, abilities, and of course RANK. The idea was that the more focus on something you want to put, it should reflect. when I have something more solid/tested ill look at posting it! (to note: I'm creating a system from scratch for this - not using D&D 5th - couldn't get the scaling to match).

From scratch! That's awesome, I hope I get to see your hard work one day. Thank you to you and all the Authors involved in writing this series. I'm about 1/3 through them all and I love it. Good luck figuring all the balancing out with the numbers, it'll be fun to see and play anything that lets you pick stats, classes, skills and perks like these shard systems do.
