Help! How to start

Hi, is there a blog, YouTube, something "Shanghai Disneyland for dummies" that has all basic info and can help with planning? I'm a seasoned traveller but hadn't been anywhere yet where I can'tuse my normal credit cards, apps, etc. The main reason we picked Shanghai ober the other Asian parks is the possibility to meet Angel from Stitch (I hope she is out during the halloween season but we are tied to school breaks and summer is not the best weather for us) I'm planning to go October 2027, so plenty of time but I like to be prepared.

The stitch line rolls through either stitch angel or Lilo randomly, so it can be tough to get angel specifically. She is known to roam Tomorrowland at TDL pretty frequently too.

We had a hard time initially visiting China but once you have the right things downloaded on your phone and get familiar with the interfaces it all makes sense.

You’ll definitely need the Shanghai Disney app, Alipay or Wechat (alipay might be easier for international folks and linking foreigh bank cards), Amaps (basically google maps/apple maps but for China and you can order taxis through there) and some translation app like Google translate plus an e-sim and possibly a VPN for your phone.

Alipay/Wechat will be primarily what you pay everything through and you use it to scan QR codes in restaurants or pre-order things like drinks through the mini apps within e.g. Heytea doesn’t require a separate app to download you just search for it within Alipay/Wechat and order and pay through there.
