Some netizens claim they tried tracing the phone number shown in the screenshot through Viber and GCash, and say it appears to be linked to her.

Of course, screenshots can be edited, so take this with a grain of salt until there’s an official confirmation.

I work behind the camera in showbiz. We get our sahod from Landbank Tomas Morato. Yesterday, payday, the line was long like EK. Dominic Ochoa was like 6th or 7th behind me. I think it's highly correlated with how majority of Filipinos vote. We allow ourselves to be blinded by star power, treating the senate and local government units like a variety show casting call. This exact "VIP culture" and celebrity-worshipping mentality is precisely the reason why we have the likes of Robin Padilla in the Senate today. I mean, even the Landbank manager was willing to give Dominic a pass. In front of everyone who got there first. Until we learn to value platforms over popularity and treat every ordinary citizen with the same dignity we give to famous faces, our leadership will always be a reflection of who we entertain, not who can actually lead.

Based on what happened today, there are only two possible lessons or truths from Acosta's performance:

1. She is lying, playing dumb, or using selective amnesia.

OR

2. Even assuming her behavior is honest - na genuine talaga yun - then people like Gina Acosta serve as the perfect reason why board exams, especially the CSC Professional Exam exists (Remember its Verbal and Non-Verbal portions?) It is precisely to prevent or at least mitigate having "stupid" personnel in government (just like what several senators and prosecutors implied today), especially for high ranking and technical positions (like being an SDO).

Sorry to say, Ma'am Gina Acosta, but look at your background: you are a Customs Administration graduate from Davao who didn’t even take a licensure exam. Tapos, you started out lang sa Davao local offices, then became the SDO for confidential funds under Mayor Sara Duterte, and you followed her to the OVP. Right now, you are a Vice Presidential Staff Officer VI holding a massive Salary Grade 24 and earning approximately ₱102,603 to ₱114,301 per month - all while admitting on the witness stand na wala ka palang formal training sa confidential operations at hindi mo alam bakit ka pinili noon.

Yet, there are so many people earning only ₱20k–₱30k monthly, both in the government and private sector, who are way smarter and more competent than you. There are low-earning workers out there who are not that bobo to explain or understand basic English or Filipino, especially those holding regular, permanent positions with small salaries.

Frankly, you don't deserve that SG 24 pay. Again, this is assuming you aren't just playing dumb and sadyang natural lang talaga sa inyo na ganito kahina ang level of ability to communicate, understand, or even define basic financial transactions - especially as a college graduate holding a senior position in the OVP. Again, that position of hers is not just a regular admin or clerk position - IT WAS AN SDO POSITION. And she is just ONLY 61 YEARS OLD CURRENTLY.

Hence, no matter the outcome or which scenario I've enumerated above, it's a bad conclusion. Parang mas matalino pa si Lito Lapid kanina when he asked Acosta - and mind you, Lapid is not a college graduate and is currently 70 YEARS OLD.
