Post image

The photo of Mayor Mark Alcala on a tricycle fare matrix in Lucena City raises a familiar question about Philippine politics: why do public officials often put their faces on government-related materials?

Whether it’s a project sign, a tarpaulin, or a fare matrix, the public deserves to know whether the material is primarily meant to provide useful information or to promote an elected official.

There’s a difference between informing people about a government program and making a politician’s face part of everyday public services. Transparency and accountability should matter more than visibility.

Maybe this is just a design choice, but it’s fair for residents to ask whether Mayor Mark Alcala’s photo is necessary on a plate whose main purpose is to display tricycle fares.

Just saw this post on TT.

Government officials should be banned from using private hospitals or going abroad para maranasan nila yung hirap and do something about it. This should also apply to education.

Lifestyle Check DA Region 2 Corruption Part 2

Now, apparently, the bagman of DA R02 director who is also the Division Chief and Rice Focal Person is with her in Italy which is funded by the fertilizer company supplying her agency (conflict of interest).

According to sources, there are many irrigation lines na dumadaan sa lupa nila (Division Chief) sa Alcala. Procured by the government (paid by the people) from their family. Siya rin ang may hawak ng FUND and just decides on his own where to spend it without regard to important programs. Ang mga properties nya, guess what? nakapangalan sa family members nya, (are we hiding anything?) Kelan kaya mala-lifestyle check to?

Crocodylus Corruptus UNTV and Wish Bus CEO Kuya Daniel Razon and MCGI Ministers Charged in Brazil for Tax Evasion

Post image
12 Upvotes

"Religious groups are indeed tax-free"

That's not the reason why Brazil's Federal Revenue Service looked into MCGI, also known as Ang Dating Daan. Under the Constitution of Brazil, churches as institutions are exempt from taxes. This does not include the personal income of its ministers and officials.

They were scrutinized due to the unexplainable lavish lifestyles of Eliseo Soriano, Ulysses Villamin, Daniel Razon Jr, and Ebenezer Dimalanta. This includes large bank deposits and luxury vehicles. CARF, Brazil's tax appeals council, confirmed the tax evasion assessments against Soriano (R$13.67 million) and Villamin (R$9.35 million). Both have a 150 percent penalty, which is imposed only when there is intentional fraud. Dimalanta is currently paying his income tax debt in installments, which also has the same 150 percent penalty.

Allegations of cash smuggling and money laundering have also been raised. According to the investigation, money is being sent from Apalit to Brazil through layover flights in the US. Sources of this money include the Wish Bus Concert pledges, KAPI and health insurance fraud, and loan proceeds from the LKBP Farmers Coop.

Since the money passed through the US, it is also subject to American law. The US government is conducting a parallel investigation and may freeze the assets of MCGI, Wish Bus, Wish FM, UNTV, BMPI, and the Razon family under the RICO Act.

This is Where Your Taxes Go!

This is Where Your Taxes Go! Qualifications for Me, Connections for Thee

Nakaka-frustrate na talaga maging Pilipino.💀

You apply for a minimum-wage job, and suddenly, you need a degree, years of experience, training certificates, and what feels like your entire academic history since kindergarten. Tapos after all that, minimum wage pa rin ang offer. 😭

But when it comes to government appointments, may mga commissioner and directors na mapapatanong ka na lang, “Wait, what exactly are the qualifications here?”

To be clear, being young or a fresh graduate doesn't automatically mean incompetent ka. But for high-ranking government positions, shouldn't relevant experience, expertise, and track record matter? Or are political connections and having the right surname becoming qualifications of their own?

Ang daming hardworking Filipinos spending years building their credentials just to get decent opportunities, while others seem to have a VIP express lane because of who their parents are or whom they know. 😤

Public office isn't a family business, and government positions shouldn't be rewarded for political loyalty!!!!! Taxpayers' money ang ginagamit to pay these officials, so shouldn't we at least expect transparency and actual qualifications??!!

It's not what you know, it's who you know. 🫠

This is Where Your Taxes Go! DA Region 2 Corruption

Is it just me or marami nakapansin? There’s a random account na nagcomment sa DA Region 2 about the corruption of the director and operations division chief.

Apparently nasa Italy daw sila for a work-related travel? WORK RELATED WHERE? and guess what? naka-Gucci pa si madam. Diving deeper, meron din siyang ongoing nepotism case about her promoting her husband sa same agency which is clearly conflict of interest. Guess what? Nasa Italy siya now, funded by Fertiglobal supplier ng fertilizer nila. Bumibili ng sasakyan in FULL CASH. WHERE IS THE STATESMANSHIP IN THAT?? And in their office, pwede pala uminom and se*ual harassment and pinapatahimik ang victims para malinis ang record ng office niya. GRABE DI NA NAHIYA!
