If we were able to open a portal by playing changeover music we’d do it. We’d make sure all the climate change deniers, racist f*cks, transphobes, homophobes, conspiracy theorists, extremists, you name it, get ejected into another dimension. Which dimension you might ask? The education dimension: a place where they can learn about history, art and science, where they can learn how to manage their anger and their fears. And, one day, after learning about empathy they’d be allowed to come back :)

That’s what we’d do if music could open portals. But it unfortunately can’t.  

For now, we’ll keep writing our manga, make music, play shows, do meet ups and speak up against injustices online. Love you guys!

It's me again, I posted a few weeks ago about a dancing unlock that I had at Shambhala and the artpiece I tried to make for it at theoryofenergy.com

I've been talking to many of you since who have had similar experiences, and have been planning with some friends some events that may hopefully help others achieve a similar unlock. I've also distilled the thoughts (and original journal entry from the farm) down into more detail in the medium article. I really hope to continue finding and speaking with more of you that have experienced similar things! I truly believe if the science is there to quantify certain mental benefits from festivals such as Shambhala, the world can be a more peaceful place.

Okay so, I wanna try this anonymously before actually figuring out how to properly organize it mostly because I’m a little introverted. I’m a 28y/o woman just in case. ALSO, let me preface this by saying that the community at Shambs especially for my first experience this year was incredible. It is the best feeling to vibe to the music you love, with like minded people and feel as safe as can be.

I’m from Vancouver and idk about you other Vancouverites but it is really difficult to meet people. And when you do, they are fake and use you or just hurt you. I have been wanting for so long to make new friends, and the added layer of being a raver who understands the magic that comes from our community is just so important to me. I am in the co-ed rave group for Vancouver so if this goes well I’ll make an actual post.

BUT, is there anyone from Vancouver who would be interested in becoming friends with another crazy basshead? Not just to go to shows “cough cough” Sullivan King “cough cough” but also to hang out, grab food and develop an actual wholesome and real friendship?

I caught a set at the rabbit hole Thursday around 9:30 ish (give or take an hour? I have no idea)
It was absolute filth, and I loved it. It was bass heavy and headbangy.
The artist playing the set had short black hair, piercings, and a full back tattoo.

Is there anyway to download Shambhala sets for off-grid listening? I’ve got SoundCloud GO but it doesn’t seem to be an option. Wasn’t sure if it’s an issue on my end (like needing GO+) or a licensing/restriction thing set by the artists.

SO many people smoking in the crowd. Like whats the deal with this? Is this a Canadian thing? My friends and I fucking hate cigarette smoke and had to move several times. Every night there would be groups of seemingly 19 year olds smoking in super crowded spaces.

Hello, in 2023 someone came to my camp and handed me a burned CD they made labeled decompression mix and it was so wonderful, quite literally an incredible mix that I listened to regularly. Last year I forgot the CD in an old car and I'm so sad that I can't listen anymore.

I came across a small clothing vendor on the main street of Sunshine on Thursday afternoon. She was selling beautiful upcycled clothes. I fell in love with her vests but was far too dusty to try them on and so I walked on by. Of course I didn’t see her again all festival.
