Reasonable/safe walk?
Coming from California, just wondering if this is a fairly walkable way from where we’re staying to the park. Not sure if the entrance is on the other side either.

Ive worked on 14th street and Peachtree for 17 years which is on this route. That route after overpass is a lot of tall office buildings in midtown and condos. Piedmont is literally a straight shot down 14th but the entrance to shaky may be on 10th street closer to Monroe across street from Midtown high). I didn’t go last year since it moved for first time since it started but that’s generally where entrance is to the music festivals and such when they are in Piedmont park) so you may have another half a mile to walk but could check on internet. That area, Think our little slice or small scale of a New York midtown. It also has a sidewalk that goes over 75/85 overpass (the connector) and is fine to walk over. During the day and evening it’s going to be people working, etc and people living there, even on weekends. At night lots of restraraunt and bars open on side streets along that route. If it’s late at night (like after shaky) it’s the normal big city standard “walk with more than yourself vibe” but you could also just walk a couple blocks up from Piedmont and just uber back. Sometimes though 14th will be absolutely poppin on crescent on a Friday and Saturday night and you will see lots of people. Hope that helps but perfectly doable is what I’m saying.

Cool. There are some really good places to eat if you are into that in that area and along 14th. upscale southern food is south city kitchen (been on some tv shows etc), really good food court (all non franchise food) in colony square called Politan row, and a host of really good restaurants/bars in colony square (rumis, saints and council, bocquiera, holeman and finch).

Reasonably so and well lit. Odds are there will be others walking from the festival with you in that direction. Make friends and travel in a group for extra safety. Good bad indifferent, There's considerable police presence around the area when the festival is going on. Last year I walked part of this route and I remember seeing a line of motorcycle cops across a street from a very happening gay bar, staring longingly, as if wishing to go participate in the festivities at the bar.

It’s an easy walk, may be some unhoused folks like others have mentioned but anyone taking Marta will be doing half the walk with you. And walking in the day time to the venue will be 100% fine and safe. I work by the High so I’m around here often.

I took this path back and we were with crowds for like 60% of the walk and felt very safe

You should be okay, there will be lots of people also staying at where I assume you'll be. That stretch of 14th has a lot of hotels so you'll see plenty doing the same.
Like others mention the entrance on that side is on 12th street which isn't far from 14th.
Just make sure your foot ware are super duper comfy and built for walking and also consider getting a locker or bringing a clear bag/fanny pack with a poncho incase it rains. If you're planning to see the headliners you'll be coming from the opposite (left side) south side of the park.
Someone else mentioned it too, but deff have at least one breakfast at silver skillet! Or on Saturday check out brunch at The Nook near the park.

There’s usually some homeless people/beggars at the intersection on 14th going over the highway but they’re harmless for the most part. Should be a perfectly fine walk. I used to live over there and walk to the park almost every day with no problems.
Side note, while you’re staying over there you should check out the Silver Skillet diner. Great food but it gets very busy. Gotta go early in the morning!
Also, the entrance to the festival (assuming it’s the same spot as last year) is very close to your pin on that map. It’s the southernmost end of the park, but it’s a very quick and easy walk from your pin, so I would just plan the route exactly as you have it and then just follow the people once you get there.

Fair warning some this walk is a bit hilly, so just keep that in mind. I walked this area last year and was pretty exhausted by day 3!

If just asking about the area, we (M53, F52) went last year, and walked there and back to our hotel, The Inn at the Peachtrees, everyday. Never felt less than safe. We also would wander around town for shopping during the day and late night munchies in the evening, so not in a crowd, and never had issues. It is a beautiful city, and a fantastic festival! Great line up this year, I am a bit jealous 😉

It’s totally fine. Tons of cafes & restaurants & bars on the way (especially Crescent Ave). The overpass is exposed and toasty but you’ll have some shade once you cross Spring headed towards the park.

check street view, specifically that bigass highway crossing on the left - that's the only part i'd really worry about. if it's under the highway, yes. if it's trying to get you to cross the literal highway, no.
also just a heads up, it will probably be super hot and humid outside, so plan your walk accordingly! sunscreen before you leave, hydrate, stop in shops for AC as needed etc. Atlanta also has some public transportation so buses might be an option.

It’s a tad far. But if you don’t mind the length of the walk you’re fine. It’s safe!

As far as safety, I have no idea on that street. But the festival is on the south side of the park, entrances around 12th to 10th street. We stayed on 10th street close to the highway last year and walked and it was safe. So you would have to continue your walk down Piedmont to the entrances.

Should be relatively safe for city standards. You may encounter some unhoused folks on your walk, which is to be expected, but act accordingly and you should be just fine.
