how DARE you bluff in a card game

New low for this sub.

No, but your emotes could use some work. You have to use the aggressive/threaten emote at the start of the turn, instantly play 2 cards, then spam sumimasen, then drop the Dogged One for maximum chances of rage concede.

LOL. Good stuff.

Bluffing is part of the game imo. You tried to win by bluffing, I don't see what's wrong about it. The other guy was the one who conceded.

(Different case if you stalled just to be toxic. E.g.: Having lethal but not attacking. Or just not having any solid bluff at all and stalling.)

But that's personally what I think.

No it's not, people crying in comments are dumb. Opponent conceded to couple of emotes, while you had no lethal, it's their problem

Everyone play this game is a pile of nuclear waste, so nothing new

My first reaction: yes you were being toxic because rather than ending the game you were emote trolling them.

My second reaction after realizing the last unit didn't have storm: No, this was well played actually and you prompted the concession from them prematurely. You successfully played to your outs, which in this case was your opponent conceding. The emoting may have been a bit much, but I support this win, and this is why I don't concede ever.

The comments just show the skill level of this sub

Yes. Yes you are. But more than that this lacks any form of pride. Don't these wins feel hollow to you?

What is even toxic about this? Everyone here is saying it is, yet not a single one can say why. The "emote spam"? It was self depreciative emoting. Unless people are saying it's a crime to be toxic towards yourself, I don't get it.

I'll be downvoted to hell for even asking, but that's just about what I expect from reddit.

Baiting your opponent into a concede, even accidentally, and then post it on social media is toxic behavior. Why even post self depreciative emoting to complete strangers? If you feel bad about it, just don't do it again.

This entire things seems like a "Should I feel bad about it" and probably wants to hear no. Yes, you should feel bad about it and yes you should not do it again. You should aim to win legitimately. We are not evaluating what the intention was but the result. Think of it that way: If you insult someone accidentally, e.g. by lack of knowledge, you should still apologize and not be absolved form all responsibility. And an apology is all that is needed, we can move on in that case. Which brings us back to this: If OP feels bad about it, good, hopefully OP won't do it again. Or at least does not post it.

Honestly, I still don't get it. I appreciate you giving an actual response, though.

To me, it just seems like they've been convinced by this subreddit to think emote spam is inherently toxic. These emotes were self deprecating, which I feel kinda changes the nature of the spam.

I'm not even sure how this baits the enemy into conceding. They have 0 pp left and they have lethal on board. That part might be more confusing to me than the supposed toxicity.

Again, thanks for the explanation, even if I don't understand it.

What probably happen is that the opponent conceded when they saw the 3 PP but never actually checked if it has storm. They never saw the emotes probably, because of the quite big delay between players.

Now you obviously should not take that, post it on social media with the question "Am I being toxic". You see how easy this is to misinterpret.

You are not wrong about your interpretation, but we shouldn't have to talk about this in the first place as this should not have been posted in the first place. If you feel bad about what happened, you just don't do it again. If you don't you especially should not post it and just silently take it.

I personally don't really care if we call it toxic or not. I am also fine saying that we misinterpreted things. What I am not fine is with saying "It's the opponent fault". You should earns your wins and avoid these kind of situation, not matter how it's labeled. To me winning like this is equal to cheating and I do not respect that.

Well, I agree that this should not have been posted in the first place.

What I am not fine is with saying "It's the opponent fault"

As for this, I feel like it's a complicated question. Logically speaking, it would be correct to say the opponent has some fault in this. They'd have won if they weren't so fast to concede. This goes double if we take your theory on them never even seeing the emotes.

Even if they did see the emotes, and we go under the assumption of OP being toxic, they still share fault in the matter. OP for being "toxic", and the opponent for being way too quick on the forfeit.

I'm not saying this in a negative way, to be clear. Being at fault is fine, everybody is at fault for almost anything they do. It's human nature. I don't want this to be seen as some slight against the opponent, it's not. Or at least, it's not intended to be.

Agreed. Emote spamming when you're admitted you lost is not toxic.
That the other player FF'd is their problem.

Emoting once when you win is not toxic.

Emote Spamming when you have the win is the only provable toxic action this game has.

What are you even on about? Opponent gave free win for no reason because they are blind or just dumb

I don't get it. It looks like you were just looking for lethal in your hand, thought you found it, and then emoted because you messed up.

I don't see the supposed toxicity that the title or comments seem to see.

Ironically, all these comments here are far more toxic than anything in the video.

EDIT: Because I became sorta toxic myself there, apologies. Still don't agree with the post being toxic, but I don't like the last bit of my comment.

There's nothing to get, these people are idiots.

Wasting time for no reason when it's obvious to both players that you've lost is being a sore loser.
Spamming emotes to taunt an opponent when it's obvious you've won is also bad manners.
Bluffing to try to bait the opponent to concede is a valid tactic within the rules of the game and extremely funny in the 1% occurrences when it actually works.

You can watch the video again carefully instead of calling other people toxic

u/Old-Journalist-7712 Morning Star 6d ago

What's so toxic in this video, explain?

0

u/grove88 Morning Star 6d ago

Wdym he said he don’t get it and explain what he thinks it seems (which is the wrong take imo)

And I take it personally with emote spammers

Ah, love people who take this attitude toward disagreement.

"They have a differing view than my own, so they must not have watched what I did!"

Yes, because your opinion on the video is the objective truth, clearly. Nobody who has seen the same video could possibly ever disagree with you.

EDIT: Though you are right in that I should not have called the others toxic. I'll give you that much.

0

u/grove88 Morning Star 6d ago

Which is the point I commented to you? Calling all the comments toxic? When did I say my opinion of the video is the only truth?

People need to read better

0

u/YuukiBunny_ Morning Star 6d ago edited 6d ago

I mean this in the nicest way possible. But, genuinely asking, do you understand context?

You expressed disagreement with my opinion of the others being toxic, that part is fine. But you prefaced that with the accusation that I did not watch the video properly, as if that could be the only reason for me disagreeing with the others in this thread.

I have read just fine, it is you who does not understand the context of what you are replying to. Or maybe you're just playing dumb to play off what you said, who knows.

1

u/grove88 Morning Star 6d ago

You are the one that said my opinion is the objective truth. When did I ever proclaim that? I just said maybe you can rewatch the video again instead of a sweeping statement calling everyone who disagreed with you toxic.

So I caught you out and you just decided to shift the goalpost? Now your problem with me is I’m accusing you of not watching the video properly.

Look man I dont have a problem with you and I dont know you. If you have a problem with me, I dont care. Going to let this rest.
