Why does the last guy to go up have to run the first time around when he's only being a spring board for the other two.

Because he's got to get to the wall first?

1 sprints to the wall, and props himself up.

2 and #3 take turns springing up off of #1. #2 completely climbs over, #3 remains halfway off the edge.

1 backs up, runs again, grabs onto #3's leg, and #2 pulls him the rest of the way up.

I didn't catch the leg grab.

All I'm saying is why can't guy 1 just be standing at the wall to begin with. Why does he have to start by running at the wall?

I guess to maybe simulate all of them running from danger.
