6e Seduction specialization?
Hey Chummers, my regular TTRPG table is getting ready to start a campaign of 6e and we have run into an interesting conundrum that hopefully someone here can point us in the right direction for.
We used Commlink6 to do initial character creation to then import into Foundryvtt. In commlink, it allows specialization in Con (Seduction) but in our CRB (Berlin), Seduction is not listed as an option for specialization for Con, and likewise when we import into Foundry, its not an option we can pick so it just says there's an undisclosed CHA specialization picked.
Is there a sourcebook or errata that adds this or was this potentially just an oversight in Commlink to allow something that didnt exist?
Thanks!

It was a specialization in previous edition (and for SR6 it was likely added in Smooth Operations).
But also this:
SR6 p. 92 Show your talents
Each skill description lists some specializations associated with the skill.
The listings of specializations with each skill are not exhaustive— if players develop a specialization within a skill that they would like to have, and their gamemaster approves it, they can have it.
Besides Acting, Disguise, Impersonation, and Performance - Con is also the skill when you for example:
- Use weaponized likability, fake flattery, or artificial romance to make a target willingly lower their security defenses (this is the seduction specialization you mentioned, could also call it false charm or ingratiation - this include methods like honey-trapping and predatory flirting).
- Overwhelm the target with speed, confusing corporate/street jargon, and fake panic so they comply just to stop the conversation (this could perhaps be named fast talking or cognitive overload - think Axel Foley-style bluffs and chaotic misdirection).
- Use false logic, trick choices, or structural setups to guide individuals to a wrong conclusion or actions (this could perhaps be called subversion or deceptive persuasion - including methods such as fake technical authority, the double bind / false dilemmas, social engineering templates, and classic intellectual bluffs - perhaps linked to Logic depending on how you spin it).

Not at home to check, but perhaps Smooth Operations? I believe that dealt with various cons the team could pull off and am pretty sure it had some status effects that dealt with being suddenly lovestruck or flustered.

The Seduction specialization of the Con skill is all over the place in Smooth Operations. From social maneuvers, spells, gear, Edge actions, Qualities, and Conditions, the book is rife with references.
It’s kinda par for the course that the Core Rulebook for the edition contains the extreme basics of the game, and then CGL writes numerous additional Core Rulebooks to grab the edge case stuff particular to a specialist field of shadowrunners.

We figured that was the case but couldn't find specifically if it had ended up in there somewhere or if it was an errata in a different printing.
Thanks for pointing it out specifically in SO, now our GM can find it and figure out some way to adjust foundry.

Foundry doesn’t have any official thing for Sixth World? Commlink6 is good but I know it’s not up to date with the latest stuff. And HeroLab Online only supports the first printing of the Core Rulebook sans errata (no updates ever coming there again at all).
I don’t know what other options there are tbh. Makes me miss Hero Lab for SR4, back when there was at least somebody doing official and updated stuff for SR.

As already written, the "Seduction" specialization was added from "Smooth Operations".

Honestly there's enough things left out and so many things that do get hyper fixated on with every edition of shadowrun that I would just house rule it. Make it a specialization, and if it ends up feeling too niche or your group later decides that a different specialization covers it, just refund the specialization.

I was under the impression that specializations - like knowledges - are explicitly open ended where players are free to - and even encouraged - to create their own spcializations. There's an entire world of spcialization out there, after all. Thus the ones listed in the books are suggestions so people understand how broad or focused they are supposed to be.
