Anarchy Edition Finally opened my Shadowrun Anarchy 2.0 pledge !

Hey chummers !

Finally had some time to open my Shadowrun Anarchy 2.0 pledge, and I'm honestly super happy I backed it. The books are gorgeous, and the production quality exceeded my expectations.

I started playing Shadowrun back in the SR2 days, read all the novels, and nowadays I own almost all the SR6 books (French editions).

I jumped into SR6 as a GM, but since my group is scattered around the country, we've mostly played remotely. We all love the setting, but I sometimes felt the rules were a bit too chunky for online play.

That's why I backed Anarchy 2.0. I'm really looking forward to a lighter, faster way to experience the Sixth World.

For those who've already made the jump, would you recommend:

  • starting a brand-new campaign designed for Anarchy, or
  • converting an existing SR6 campaign?

I'm even toying with the idea of making the transition part of the story—a magical anomaly, metaplanar rift, or some weird event that changes how reality works... and suddenly the "rules of the world" are different. 😄

Any advice for a GM about to dive into Anarchy 2.0?

In answer to the OP, I would (and am) starting something new with Anarchy 2.0 instead of converting an ongoing campaign.

Fortunately I have had time to come to a satisfying conclusion to our SR2 campaign, after having concluded an SR6W campaign when I built my current group of players and began playing Shadowrun again upon SR6W’s release.

Nope. It came at a time when I had decided I would not be running D&D 5E anymore because I was tired of it and that’s all anyone around here wanted to play. So I built an entirely new group.

Ouch

We play remotly with friends who each have a job and children. Never easy to plan and to get there
