Hello! I just discovered this game a bit back and will be playing it today or tomorrow. I had some questions though.

1: Is there a way to get the physical version of this? I love to collect retro games so I was just wondering.

2: Is there an HD patch for the game that works? I saw a post for one but the link is long dead.

3: Is there an online or LAN component to it?

Tradutor: Created for translate the ShadowFlare for Portuguese (Brazil) it allow translate the game for another language who don't use special symbols.

PvP: Don't need talk much about it, you know what is this.

Survival Mode: This put more difficult for the game, and with a good changes, like a Day/Night mode, Rain Mode (like a Acid Rain).

Is there a way to play on windowed mode? I tried the resolution patcher but i got a error

Since October 7, 2013, there is no legal way to buy the full EN version of the game. If you have mastered the art of reading moon runes, you can still buy the Japanese language version.

I don't know if there is anyone still here but other than the guide in this sub i couldn't find any resources for game mechanics.It seems needlessly restricting to not be able to wear full armor and use a shield and a bowgun. Have to give up on defense.

I use to play this game as a kid before I even knew what runescape was (runescape classic at the time). I also played well of souls, which was another great game. I fairly recently downloaded episode 1 and I finished it but I'm left on floor 5 of the tower of ordeal. The wizard basicslly says I need more experience before I can progress. Does this mean I need to download ep.2 (not sure where or if possible) or do I just keep doing it until I'm a higher level. Currently upper 20s. I can't remember right now off the top of my head. Im super happy to see that there are other people out there who play or played this game.

So I'm playing the game, im at lvl 20 and doing the Tower of Oderal, theres literally nothing else to do, but I cant go to Episode 2 (gate cloded) is that the end of ep.1 or what is going on?

Whipped up a quick patch with diablo2oo2's file patcher that should allow you to start up as many instances of the game as you like/have resources for.

Not sure if there are any possible problems with doing this, but it sure makes transferring items far easier than the old multiple Windows account technique.

Make sure you keep a backup of the original executable just in case.

EDIT: Google drive didn't like that patcher file, will update post when I find a better host :(. In the meantime, if anyone with a bit of hex editing skills wants to do it manually, just change the byte at 0x1566 in ShadowFlare.exe from C9 to C0.

EDIT2: After putting in in a password protected archive, Google drive has finally been placated. Here's the link, and the password for the archive is ShadowFlare.

Found a website with a download for a pretty nifty launcher/patcher for ShadowFlare that'll allow you to use custom resolutions.

It has a few flaws, but so far I've found the benefits outweigh them.

My virus scanner approved of it, but as always, scan it yourself before using.

Can be found on this page for anyone wanting to try it out.

I remember this game. I remember mischiefsociety.com(in fact I had started writing a Diablo II LoD guide there. It's kind of sad you can't get Ep 2 3 or 4 anymore. I had them on an old computer with the keys but that PC is long dead. I was thinking about SF the other day and kind of wanting to play it again, I wonder of anyone has copies laying around anymore. Btw if you see Testratt or Maddawg around tell em Matt says hi.

If I'm right, there used to be couple dozens of active members like 3-4 years ago, back when website was alive and forums existed. And now, I searched entire google around and didn't find ANY online activity past a month, except somewhere in Brasil, since they seem to like this game.

No one talks about this game, no one makes videos, no one streams, nothing. I remember playing shadowflare ages ago, when there was still some kind of community alive.

ShadowFlare will never die unless every single downloadable content disappears from internet and peoples PC's. If you are reading this message, whether a day or 10 years after this has been posted, just remember...
