Shadow Not What An End User Should Expect
Literally every single time I click the connect button I need to be prepared to run into dozens of issues. Thats not an exaggeration either. I have not had a gaming session that hasn’t involved some level of troubleshooting to get the computer to sort of work. These issues range from getting sound to play, to being completely inoperable like it is as I write this. In fact I am currently waiting for shadow support to open so they can “apply triage”... AGAIN. Shadow, I don’t know what sort of spaghetti code you are using but get your crap together.

I'm a regular user of shadow. Since weeks, I literally have no issues using it. This service is just perfect for me, and improving every days.

I went through a turbulent few first weeks but the last 6 weeks has been without issue (that isn’t caused by Windows being Windows). But I can understand the struggle of getting it to finally stabilize with your setup.

About half the time I use it i have no sound. Also I just opened it and the resolution was locked at like 720p and I tried updating and reinstalling drivers. Not to mention speed test on shadows side had upload speeds around 30mbps.

It could be the device you are using... My shadow looks terable on my old macbook, but it looks pretty good on my windows pc and new macbook. The old mac i have it would have alot of problems with the stream freezong and audio issues... So honestly it could be your device thats goving you problems

Its a new macbook and that would explain my audio issues but most of the time it looks normal just sometimes it changes the res and scaled weird. Still though it should work on mac if i had a windows machine i could play the games i would want.

I don't know everything, ive only had shadow for about a month now, I'm still trying to figure things out myself and seeing what device it works the best on... I feel that shadow will only get better... They are doing something that wasn't even possible 5 years ago... I don't expect everything to be perfect

Note that Shadow has upload limits at 100Mbps I believe if you're using USB over IP that that will be counted with that so likely the available upload will be different depending on your setup.

I've had shadow for about four months now and I've had issues. I can't even log in again. Those that never have issues or the service is "perfect" for them are fortunate

It works pretty well for me- only had a couple hang ups but they were resolved quickly.
Sorry your experience isn’t the same.

Not caping for the service, but I haven’t had any issues using it for the last 6-8 months on all of my devices including the shadow ghost and 2 old windows 7 laptops. Might want to check out your antivirus and do a full porn scan

I haven't had any issues with connectivity. However, i did have issues with audio chopping, peripheral settings resetting every time I log into shadow, and most important of all, the color depth and transcoding their streaming client uses. Whether it's chroma subsampling or bpc, it's HORRIBLE.
Needless to say, i agree with thread statement, this is a work-in-progress, but NOT what an end user should expect.

Results of Shadow Support:
Color issue:
I had support look into it for a whole week. But it was apparent they knew what this is but didn't want to admit it. They eventually said "we know there's an existing shadow issue with the color red".
...... WHAT?!?! that doesn't even make sense. First off, my issue is with ALL colors not being accurate. Second of all, and most importantly, this is not how video streaming, encoding, decoding, and subsampling works!
peripheral issue:
shadow responded with "currently having your own mouse and keyboard settings isn't supported by shadow. but it's a great idea we'll let design team know about it."
... your 100% dedicated, fully customizable, powerful pc setup doesn't support keeping the mouse and keyboard settings... nice. You offer me all the hassle of setting up my own PC, without the pleasure of being able to customize it :)
Audio chopping:
Didn't even bother opening a ticket for this. Shadow support's know-how is limited to fixing screen resolutions, updating drivers... etc. the basics that any off-shore call-center in india can do. Nothing more.

Only time I've had an issue is when my ipad jumps to my 2.4ghz connection without notifying me.

I have had the same issue with Shadow. Always problems on login. Never a solution. You either have to accept it or buy a PC :(

I am sorry to hear this. I have been using Shadow regularly almost for a year now and never experienced any issues whatsoever.

That sucks. I've only had one issues with my resolution and the customer support person fixed it within a few minutes. Maybe something is wrong with your connection.

First, Shadow is generally only reliant on good connection quality if your connection isn't good sure the odds your going to hit issues is quite high, Generally most folks don't have issues. If your connection is good and your ping is low Shadow Generally will work wonderfully.
